Christmas Card in March!

Deconstructing Jen has a sketch right now that I wanted to try. I'm going to be in a Christmas card swap, so I wanted to see if this sketch would work for it. I'm going to have to go with something else. This just has too many layers. I'm also entering this into the "Name that Tune" challenge at Cas-ual Fridays.

The first Noel the angel did say,
Was to certain poor shepherds in fields where they lay.
In fields where they lay keeping their sheep
On a cold winter's night that was so deep.
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
Born is the King of Israel!
Materials used:
Paper: Bulk Believe B&T, textured white cardstock (don't know the brand)
Stamp: Father Christmas
Ink: Holiday Red
Other: Holiday button assortment, White Baker's Twine, AP Cricut cartridge
The inside says "Merry Christmas!"

O Happy Day

The challenge over at CAS-ual Friday today is "Name that tune." Oh, did I come up with so many ideas! LOL! Here is one of them, maybe watch for a few more in the days following :).

Sometimes when I'm looking through my stamp sets a song pops into my head (and I can't get rid of it for the life of me). I usually try to avoid that, but today I was like "Bring it on!" This is one of those songs:

O Happy Day
When Jesus washed
My sins away.
He taught me how
To watch, fight, and pray
And live rejoicing every day
O Happy Day!
It's the Sister Act version that pops into my head when I see this stamp.

"Praise be to God for His indescribable gift!"

Materials used:
Paper: White Daisy, Chocolate cardstock
Stamps: You and Me
Ink: Chocolate
Other: Blue Ribbon Collection

Animal Birthday Card

Here is a fun card I'm entering into a few challenges. I really liked the challenge from the Play Date Cafe to use black and white and a splash of brown. That was fun. The sketch is from ByLoriDesigns. I'm also entering the Ribbon Carousel and Simon Says' Anything Goes challenge. The stacked animals was inspired by Inspired By... that sounds funny :).

This card is VERY tall. It is 9"x5"! I used Black and Colonial White cardstock, Roxie animal print B&T, Make a Wish and Life's a Jungle Stamp sets, Colonial White and Black Ink, Colonial White ribbon, Canvas Badge Button, and Bitty Sparkles for the eyes. I colored them black with a CTMH marker. The border punch is from MS. Here are my inspirations:

For the shabby tea room, I had to create a project using lilac, blue, yellow, and Kraft and butterflies. This is the inspiration photo:

Alabama Dreamin'... On such a winter's day...

Hello y'all. Okay, I'm not from Alabama, but I lived there for 6 years. I looked at the Saturday challenges and they went perfectly with my cold winter pictures that I needed to scrapbook. I've been trying to think of an idea and today's challenges were perfect. Here they are:

Sketch Saturday sketchsaturday.blogspot.com/
CR84FN cr84fncolorchallenge.blogspot.com/
The Sweet Shop sweetstopsketches.blogspot.com/
Our Creative Corner ourcreativecorner6.blogspot.com/
Crazy 4 Challenges crazy4challenges.blogspot.com

I used the Secret Layout from Magic, but I used these 2 sketches for the embellishments on my pages:

I was inspired by these colors:

which I interpreted as Cotton Candy, Sunset, and Honey.
The challenge from Our Creative Corner was to use a Spring Break destination on your project. I used Alabama. The challenge from Crazy 4 Challenges was to use Owls on your project. Thus the "Owlabama!" :)

Here is my layout:
Materials used:
Paper: Lucy, Pemberly, Stella Level 2 Kits
Ink: Black, Cocoa, Sunset, Honey, Cotton Candy
Stamps: Tiny Typewriter, Petite Perks, Pair-a-Phrase, Father Christmas, Snowflakes, Limited Edition, Dreams Come True, Ciao

Inspired by Red

First I wanted to do the Cards & Things challenge... http://krista-kris-challenges.blogspot.com/

But these colors are so very fall, and I just couldn't think in terms of fall yet, so I waited a few days. Then I wanted to do the For Your Inspiration challenge. http://foryourinspirationchallenges.blogspot.com/

It's also very fall, right? But it took me a while to put the 2 together. So next, I needed a sketch for my card. The one at Sketch Saturday was nice and open, so I could focus on stamping. I found a great stamp set that I hadn't really used yet, perfect for these challenges. Here's the sketch from http://sketchsaturday.blogspot.com/:

And here's my card:
Materials Used:
Paper: Cranberry, Goldrush, Colonial White cardstock

I feel Lucky

I had a bunch of card kits made up from my first gathering. They never got used (I made 20 and had 10 guests), so I pulled them out and started playing with them today. I knew I didn't want 10 of the exact same cards, but I never thought about turning them into 10 different cards! LOL! Anyway, here are 2 cards that I made for some challenges. The first challenge was to use a Bingo card and some green on a card for the St. Patrick's Day challenge: http://ourcreativecorner6.blogspot.com/

Materials used: Lucky Level 2 Kit & Level 2 assortment: Sonoma WOTG and Enjoy Life stamp sets, Desert Sand and Pacifica Ink.

The second card is for 2 challenges. The sketch is from Deconstructing Jen deconstructingjen.com.

The colors are from the playdate cafe: theplaydatecafe.blogspot.com.

I chose Cotton Candy with Vineyard Berry, Honey, and whatever that color is from the Lucky Kit... I think it's either Pacifica or Outdoor Denim.
Materials used: Lucky Level 2 Kit, Lucy WOTG stamp set, Vineyard Berry, Cotton Candy, Pacifica and Honey Ink. Wooden Button assortment, Colonial White Embroidery Floss.

Lucy Get Well Card

I discovered some more challenges, so I combined 3 of them into one card. I'm so tickled with how this card came out. I think it's adorable! Here are my 3 challenges: http://sweetsketchwednesday.blogspot.com/, http://loriboyd.blogspot.com/, and http://simonsayschallenge.blogspot.com/.

The first challenge was a nice sketch:

The second was an inpsiration photo. I was inspired by the colors and the dots on the bowls.

The third challenge (from Simon Says) was a bingo board. The idea is to choose 3 in a row. I chose the top 3 across... Flowers, Glitter, and Brads. I really wanted to use brads to look like the dots in the above photo.

Materials used: Lucy Level 2 paper pack, Key Lime and Baby Pink cardstock, GreyWool, Chocolate, Baby Pink inks, Pink assortment and basic assortment brads, Prisma Glitter, Just Blooms Paradise assortment, White Daisy RicRac
