Color Dare 120 with Pathfinding

This week at Color My Heart, we are challenging you to use Barn Red, Goldrush, Glacier, Lagoon, and Olive on your project. If you didn't figure it out, these are the colors of the new Pathfinding paper pack from Close to My Heart. Pathfinding is a fall/Thanksgiving themed paper pack. I absolutely love it! I completed the card and scrapbooking Workshops on the Go, and I had a little of the pack left over. I really liked the stamp set from the Card kit, and I thought it would look great on a scrapbook page. I plan on placing a picture of us at Thanksgiving on this page.

I used the woodgrain stamp with Chocolate ink on Chocolate cardstock for the base. I ran the strips of Colonial White through my Cuttlebug with the CTMH dots embossing folder - just on the edges. The woodgrain, embossing, burlap, twine and tag were inspired by the Shabby Tea Room Photo. The sketch is from Atlantic Hearts. I'm also entering this into the Pink Elephant "Anything But a Card" challenge.

Materials used:
Cardstock: Colonial White, Chocolate
B&Ts: Pathfinding
Stamps: Pathfinding Card WOTG

Green Chalkboard

As you guys know, I love combining challenges. I went to the Saturday challenges yesterday, and this is what I found:

Crazy 4 Challenges - numbers
Just Us Girls - chalkboard trend
52 Christmas Card Throwdown - colors: red and green with silver or gold
Less is More - One Layer with stars

I was stumped at first because I couldn't use black for 52CCT, then how was I going to make a chalkboard card? I thought and thought, until I finally realized - some chalkboards are green! So I used New England Ivy cardstock cut out with Art Philosophy for the card base.

I used gold embossing powder for the star, a button with hemp for the pop of red, and outlined the card with a gold metallic marker. The images are stamped in White Daisy pigment ink and smeared with a tissue. I used the Bible verse, Luke 2:14 for the numbers.

Materials used:
Cardstock: New England Ivy
Stamps: Glory to God
Ink: VersaMark, White Daisy
Other: Gold embossing powder, Holiday buttons, Natural Hemp, Metallic Markers

Orange! (Color Dare 117)

This week's color dare was to use orange, any shade of orange, on your project. My favorite from CTMH is Autumn Terracotta. We had a beautiful fall this year, and I got some pretty pictures, so I wanted to feature them in a layout this week. I got sick, so I didn't get to make this layout on time, so here it is, 5 days late.

I cased this layout from Annual Inspirations p. 55. The layout is MIFYH vol. 1, pat. 18. I used the Pathfinding paper pack and the Fall Harvest stamp set.

Come join us this week at Color My Heart!

Cardstock: Colonial White, Chocolate, Autumn Terracotta, Cashmere, Sweet Leaf
B&Ts: Pathfinding

CAS Vintage

I was looking at my Saturday inspirations, and found these challenges:

Sketches: Retro Sketches, 52 Christmas Card Throwdown
Less is More: Non-traditional Christmas colors
Our Creative Corner: Use a Nature Photo and a vintage style
Just Us Girls: Wreath

I found this photo of my girls and their snowman:

So I found it in my file under Feb. 2012, added a Sepia tone in PicMonkey, and edited that big black leaf off of Susanna's face:

Looks pretty vintage-y, right? Then I printed it on cardstock, cropped it down, and added it to a 5x7 card with some layers of black, white and kraft.

I added some pink sparkles for a non-traditional pop of color.

Materials used:
Cardstock: Black, White Daisy, Kraft
Stamps: Holiday Wishes, Avonlea Scrapbooking WOTG
Ink: White Daisy, Chocolate, VersaMark
Other: White embossing powder, Prisma Glitter, Pink & Purple Sparkles, Cocoa Ribbon Rounds, White Baker's Twine, Florets Just Blooms Paper Shapes
