Tea Party

Today I made a layout from the Scraptacular January sketch. I used the colors from Color My Heart: Mint, Smoothie, Ballerina, French Vanilla, Candy Apple, and Carolina.

I used my Tea Time stamp set and fussy cut all those tea pots and cups. I also stamped the backgrounds onto cardstock: Mint, Carolina, Candy Apple and Smoothie on Ballerina, and Smoothie on Smoothie. I decided to mat the little squares with White Daisy to give them a nice clean look. Looking at this layout reminds me of a blanket I crocheted one time. I’ll see if I can find the picture of it.

It’s just missing the blue! Here is the sketch and color combo. Thanks for visiting, and we’ll see you next week!

Materials used:

Cardstock: Mint, Ballerina, Smoothie, Carolina, French Vanilla, White Daisy, Holiday Red

Inks: Candy Apple, Smoothie, Carolina, Mint

Stamps: Line It Up Cricut Bundle, It’s the Little Things, Diverse Backgrounds, Tea Time

Three Trees

Today I made a slimline card. I had to look it up, because I’ve never made one before, but that was the challenge at Heart 2 Heart. I cut my card base 8 1/2”x7 1/2”. For Color My Heart, I used green, gold, and white for the 1+1+1 challenge. I used the sketch from Atlantic Hearts, and I like the way this one turned out.

I stamped my trees with Olive ink onto Garden Green cardstock and fussy cut them. I put them on the White Daisy panel and put that onto a Garden Green card base. I added some gold sequins and cut the sentiment from my cuttlebug. It was one I got from Hobby Lobby.

Thanks for stopping by and come back soon!

Christmas Card Throwdown

I love the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge. I used to be on their design team, several years ago, and it was such a neat experience! I keep looking at the challenges this year, but haven’t been able to participate yet. So I combined the first 3 challenges and made one card! I used the sketch from week one, the colors from week two, and the theme of bells from week three!

Here are the materials I used for my card:

Cardstock: White Daisy, Chocolate, Saddle, and Olive Fundamentals

Stamp sets: Yuletide Greetings, Yuletide Carol, and Holiday Wishes

Ink: Chocolate

Other: Barn Red marker, random gold sequins

Scrapbooking!

Toward the end of last year, I realized I needed to get back to scrapbooking, since I hadn’t really done any since 2018. So I finished my Craft With Heart Kits, printed all my pictures from 2019, and filled up the book. I finished it in a week! My hubby also had taken me to Hawaii in 2019, and I’d had those pics printed for a while. So I worked on that album during the Christmas break. I finished in time for New Year’s.

I have a goal for this year to finish my 2018 and my 2020 scrapbooks. Someone added me to the Scraptacular Cropping challenge, so I have done a layout for that challenge the past three weeks. It has been fun! Since the challenge is on Facebook, I didn’t think to post them to my blog, but I will put them here:

Valentine

Today I am participating in 3 challenges:

Color My Heart

Atlantic Hearts

As You See It

The challenge for As You See It is to use your scrap box and make a card in less than 10 minutes. You’re allowed to lay your card out before you start the timer, so I grabbed my boxes to see what colors I had from the Color Dare tic tac toe.

I ended up finding some die cuts in Smoothie, Blue Belle, and Paprika. But problem is, I’m supposed to be making a Christmas card, and these are all Valentines cutouts! So, I’m going to have to make a Christmas card after this. So stay tuned!

I laid out my card, then set the timer and started gluing! I finished and embellished it with 15 seconds to spare! I even decorated the inside.

After I had the diagonal colors for the tic tac toe, I decided to add the Toffee because I had found a die cut that fit well.

As far as materials, I’ve had these for ages, but I think they are Heartstrings, Cranberry Cricut cuts, chipboard heart, Smoothie and White Daisy cardstock, Desert Sands Cricut cut, and some Dutch Blue die cuts (the colors are close, but not exact. I don’t think I own any Paprika or Blue Belle!). The flower is stamped with Universal Backgrounds I think. Then I embellished with some blue sparkles.

Thanks for visiting and come back soon!

New Year’s Resolutions

Hi! Welcome back! I have fulfilled my promise to make a Christmas card this week. This year I have about 30 New Year’s resolutions, so I am a little ambitious. Last year I focused on the Lord and spiritual growth, so this year I am adding some things to create balance in my life. I haven’t been crafting much, but I need that bit of creativity. So this year I am focusing on balance, not on obsessing over one thing. I’m reading more, scrapbooking, knitting, swimming, organizing, and healthy meal planning in addition to spiritual disciplines like reading my Bible, prayer journaling, hospitality, and fasting. I am hoping this will be a boost to my mental and emotional health as well.

Today I’ve created a card for the “Out with the Old, In with the New” challenge at Heart 2 Heart. I made it with Peacock, Flamingo, and Avocado for the colors at Color My Heart. I think it makes for a very pretty non-traditional Christmas card. The sketch is from Atlantic Hearts. I think it’s a very pretty sketch!

I used a border punch on some pattern paper from Florence, some peacock cardstock, and I stamped an image from Snowhaven Cardmaking Workshop onto White Daisy card stock. I added some pink and green flowers for the Flamingo and Avocado. The sentiment is from the Christmas Love stamp set.

2021 Happy New Year

It has been a while since I posted here. I come back every once in a while and say that. But I am going to try to make at least a card a week this year and post it here. This Christmas I had a lousy amount of Christmas cards to send, so I want to try to have a whole slew of them by the end of the year!

I’m starting with the Color My Heart and Double Trouble challenges. I used a subway tile embossing folder with my cuttlebug to look like a brick wall. And I used this cute, cuddly polar bear from the Got Snow stamp set.

The colors I used are Chocolate, Clover, Bluebird, and Candy Apple. I colored with a paintbrush marker, and added some Florence sequins!
