June Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!  We will be featuring June's SOTM, which is Ice Cream Dream, a set of 7 stamps.  If you have come here from Judy Faye Garners's Blog, you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way all around.  If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants on Melinda’s Blog:  http://ifyoublingit.blogspot.com/p/stamp-of-month-blog-hop-list.html.

This month we have 50 Close To My Heart Consultants participating in this blog hop. This is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one! Here we go!

I made a card using the sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketches and the color combo from Color Throwdown. I was pleased that the Brushed paper pack contained the right colors for this combo! I'm also entering this into the challenge at Pile it On - for coloring.

Materials used:
Cardstock: White Daisy
B&Ts: Brushed
Stamps: Ice Cream Dream
Ink: Pear, Pixie, Desert Sand
Other: Watercolor Pencils

Friendship

I wanted to make a card today, so I looked up some challenges and found some supplies laying around that I could work with. I had this Lagoon ink and Glacier Twine that I thought would work well together. I used some Baby Pink and Saddle cardstock scraps. And I used an embossing folder that the baby threw on the floor that I hadn't picked up yet! I accented with some Blush Bigger Brads. The challenges are:

Cardstock: Colonial White, Baby Pink, Saddle
Stamps: Childhood Portrait

Blossom Creative Insider

I have a group of 2 customers (one of which is now a consultant), and for May they wanted to do Blossom. But one wanted to do cards and one wanted to do scrapbooking. I bought the cards and the Paper pack for myself, but I didn't want to waste money on a stamp set (for the creative insider) just to let one person do a layout. So I decided to use the May SOTM instead of Snapshot Memories for the Layout. I like how it turned out. A lot of the images and sentiments are the same or similar. The only extra stamp I used was from Your Own Kind of Wonderful for the title.

Materials used:
Cardstock: Kraft, White Daisy, Sorbet
B&Ts: Blossom
Stamps: Just Sayin'
Ink: Sorbet, Lagoon
Other: Glacier Extra Thick Twine, Coral Reef Sequins

Christmas in May

This afternoon I'd like to share with you a Christmas card I made for 2 challenges:

52 Christmas Card Throwdown
CASE-ing Christmas

The original card inspired the colors, the bird, and the ribbon & pearls on my card. I used the sketch from 52CCT. Here is the original card by Mynnette Kitchen from CASE-ing Christmas.

And the sketch from 52CCT:

Materials used:
Cardstock: Ruby, Colonial White, Kraft
Stamps: To You and Yours
Ink: Black
Markers: Shin Han Touch Twin Carmine, Sap Green, Pastel Green, Colorless Blender
Other: Licorice Opaques, Black Stripe Twill Ribbon

Original

I really like the Orange and Blue combination in the Blossom paper pack, so I used it to make a card for the challenge over at Less is More - Opposite colors on the color wheel. I made a pair of glasses for the "eye" theme challenge at Crazy 4 Challenges. The sketch is from Retro Sketches and I used a bit of twine for the Word challenge at Just Us Girls.

I kinda wanted to add some sparkle to this card, but you know, as they say, "Less is More."

Materials used:
Cardstock: White Daisy
B&Ts: Blossom
Stamp Sets: All the Details, Family Photo
Ink: Sunset, Lagoon
Other: Paradise Baker's Twine
