September Blog Hop

Welcome to our September Blog Hop. If you arrived here from Bev G.’s Blog, then you are on the right path. If you are just starting here, simply follow the trail until you have visited all of the blogs in the hop. You will know you reached the end when you wind up back here. This month we have decided to go with the Consultant’s Choice. When you are done viewing my project, I encourage you to hop on over to Carol’s Blog and check out what she has created this month!

For my project this month, I chose to showcase the September Stamp of the Month: Fall Favorites! I colored the cute little scarecrow with our new alcohol-based markers, and I used the Clementine paper pack. The pattern is #25 from the Make it From Your Heart book. Here is my card, and under it you will find a list of all the products I used and their numbers, in case you want to purchase any of them on my website. sarahstone.ctmh.com.

Belated birthday

My Grandpa's birthday was last week and I didn't send him anything. He's a punny guy, so I thought he'd like a card made with my new stamp set, Pun Fun. I used the sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch, and I used the colors from Sentimental Sundays - I also included the faux stitching for their challenge.
I still feel like it needs something... I might put some string on it or some pearls or color in the turtle... some paper piecing might be nice. But I know my grandpa will like it as it is. I should just hurry up and get it mailed, eh? BTW, I do like that it's mailable as it is. :)

Here's the inside of the card:
Materials used:
Cardstock: White Daisy, Pacifica, Cranberry, Grey Flannel, Pear
B&Ts: Believe, Elemental, Dotty for You
Stamps: Pun Fun, Card Chatter - Birthday
Ink: Pear
Other: CM Journaling Pen (not CTMH)

Color Dare #13

Hello. Here is my card for Color Dare #13 over at Color My Heart. I am also entering this into CAS-ual Friday's challenge: Banners and Flags.
Pattern: Make It From Your Heart - Pattern 19
Materials used:
Cardstock: Saddle, Cashmere
B&T's: Clementine
Stamps: Trinity and Keepsake Alphas
Ink: Saddle
Other: Hemp

Fun Layout

I had a lot of fun making this layout from my daughter's zoo trip. She had a lot of fun at the zoo, but I wasn't able to go with her. So I'm taking her word for it. :)

The colors at ColourQ were perfect, and I made it CAS, based on the inspiration photo from Runway Inspired. I used this sketch from Frosted Designs. BTW, my layout was in the top 3 at Frosted Designs last week!!! Yay! I was so surprised they chose mine!
I made the layout exactly like the sketch, but I rotated it 90 degrees.

Materials used:
Cardstock: White Daisy, Black, Slate
B&T's: Dotty for You
Stamps: Trinity Alphabet, Classmate Alphabet, It's Your Day
Other: Paradise Paper Flowers, Paradise Baker's Twine, Black Ribbon Assortment, and Sparkles - Black & Grey Assortment

My lips will shout for joy

I like how this card turned out. I found a new sketch challenge that looks like fun. It's called I Spy. I used this week's sketch for this card. I also used the word art from Word Art Wednesday. The colors are from Color Throwdown - I used the B&T's from different paper packs to achieve the look. I used chipboard for the embellishment per the requirements of Frosted Designs. I made it myself, so I'm entering this into the create-your-own embellishment challenge at the Pink Elephant! I did this by coloring chipboard shapes, stacking them on top of each other, adding a flower and finishing it off with a sparkle!

Materials used:
Paper: White cardstock (not CTMH); Stella, Clementine, and Lucy B&T's
Word Art: from Word Art Wednesday
Other: Irresistables chipboard shapes, Paradise flowers, and Sweet Leaf Sparkles

Mondays part 2

Here is another card I made for 2 Monday challenges: Mojo Monday and the Shabby Tea Room. I like how this card turned out because I used white ink on Blush cardstock and I embossed on vellum.
The challenge at the Shabby Tea Room was to be inspired by the colors in the inspiration photo and to use damask and flowers. I used my Dakota woodgrain paper to mimic the table legs in the photo.

Materials used:
Cardstock: White Daisy, Blush
Paper: Vellum (not CTMH)
Stamps: Two-step Backgrounds, Petite perks
Ink: White Daisy, Slate
Other: Crochet lace, doily, and flowers from my stash (not CTMH)
Cricut Cartridges: Artiste

Mondays

Here is a card I made for 2 Monday challenges. I combined Merry Monday with Heart 2 Heart. It's an odd combination to combine Christmas with summery colors like Pear, Lagoon, and Sunset, but I did it and I like it, doggone it! :)

Materials used:
Cardstock: Black, White Daisy
B&T's: Dotty for You
Stamps: Pear & Partridge card WOTG
Inks: Pear, Lagoon, Sunset, Black
Other: Black Ribbon Assortment

Yellow Shabby Chic

I made this card with a cute lemonade image from A Day for Daisies. The challenge was to use yellow and polka-dots. My Dotty for You paper pack did the trick! I used the sketch from the Sweet Stop. This is probably my favorite sketch EVER! I love it so much. I think I will use it over and over!
Materials used:
Paper: Dotty for You; Colonial White and Buttercup cardstock
Stamps: ADFD digital image (not CTMH)
Markers: Buttercup and Olive (retired)
Cricut Cartridge: Art Philosophy
Other: Not CTMH - doilie (Wilton), lace (Walmart), ribbon (stash), paper flowers (Prima), silk flowers (HL), charms & satin flowers (Walmart), pearls (Ms)

I also spray painted the flowers and lace and doilies with some regular white spray paint.

I used my Art Philosophy to make the cute leafy-branch die cuts for this challenge.

This crafting style has me out of my comfort zone, so I hope you like it.

Since I took this picture I also added a Slate bitty sparkle to the horsy's eye. It adds just the right touch.

Some cards I made today

I hope I'm not breaking any rules, but I don't want to stay up all night typing a whole bunch of posts. I'm just going to stick them all here. Let me know in a comment if I broke any rules so I can fix it. Thanks.

My daughters wanted to make a card for their cousin (her birthday was today). So they entered them into the Simon Says kids challenge. Here is Leah's card (she's 5 - almost 6):

Here is Susanna's card (she's 3):
And I made this card for these challenges: Sweet Sketch Wednesday, ColourQ and Simon Says (animal antics).
Here's the inside:

Materials used:
Paper: Let's Get Together; White Daisy & Buttercup cardstock
Stamps: Life is Tweet
Inks: Garden Green, Cranberry
Markers: Buttercup
Embellishments: Holiday Buttons, Paradise Paper Flowers, Holiday Brads, White Daisy Embroidery Floss

Here's another card I made for these challenges: Freshly Made Sketches, Color Throwdown, and Word Art Wednesday. This is an anniversary card for my sister-in-law.

This card didn't exactly turn out how I envisioned it. I think I put the butterflies too far apart or made them too big or something. Oh well, maybe next time.

Materials used:
Paper: White Daisy, Pear, Goldrush, Heavenly Blue, and Petal cardstock; Flirty B&T
Stamps: Word Art from WordArtWednesday (not CTMH)
Cricut: Art Philosophy Cartridge
Other: Bitty Sparkles, white ribbon (not CTMH)
