I'm Dreaming of a ... Purple Christmas?

Here are a couple purple cards I made. I was making a purple card to CASE Rocky's card at CASE-ing Christmas, so while I still had the purple out, I decided to make a card for the other two Christmas challenges I like to play in: 52CCT - Bells; & Merry Monday - House.

Here is the CASE-ing Christmas card I made:

And here is the Original:

For my other card, I used the Snow Days stamp set because it had a house AND jingle bells. I made a little scene with the one-horse open sleigh riding over the river and through the woods to pick out a Christmas Tree. The bells are on the little horse. I added the little ticket that says "oh what fun" to tie it in to the song Jingle Bells.

Materials used:
Cardstock: White Daisy, Amethyst, Gypsy
Stamps: Frosted Card WOTG, Yuletide Carol Scrapbook WOTG, Snow Days
Ink: Amethyst, Gypsy, Black
Markers: Buttercup, Sweet Leaf, Gypsy, Crystal Blue, Whisper
Other: Purple Sparkles

Color Dare 127 - Snowmen!

This week at Color My Heart we are challenging you to use Black and White with Indian Corn Blue and silver. I CASED a card from Anne Marie Hile that I've had on one of my pinterest boards.

I also want to enter this into the Close to My Heart Weather challenge. Even though it's been warm enough to melt some of the snow here the last day or two, there's still enough snow on the ground to make a family of snowmen!

Come play along with us this week!

Materials used:
Cardstock: White Daisy, Indian Corn Blue
B&Ts: Magic Moments
Stamps: Pair-a-Phrase
Ink: Black
Other: Bitty Sparkles, Black Ribbon Rounds, Silver Glitter Paper, Paper Fundamentals - Basic, Blue Buttons

Christmas Trees

I've been loving the CASE challenges at CASE-ing Christmas. My goal is to see how close I can get to the original using all Close To My Heart products. Here is my card:

And here is the card for CASE-ing. This one is from Judy.

I thought that Mistletoe would be perfect for this card. I think my "candy cane" stripes come pretty close to the original card, don't you?

Materials used:
Cardstock: Garden Green, Cranberry, Colonial White
B&Ts: Mistletoe
Stamps: Christmas Love
Ink: Garden Green, Cranberry, Canary, VersaMark
Other; Gold Embossing Powder, Red Glitter Gems, Red Sparkles, Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge

Love Target

So, last night I made this card. I had found some challenges, but I really wasn't inspired until I found the Close to My Heart bingo card. The first challenges are:

colour Q - (CTMH colors) Hollyhock, Lagoon, Chocolate, Kraft + Neutral
Clear it out - Love theme (oops I forgot the flowers)

Then I found this bingo card, and my finger landed on "Mix it up with Ribbon." So I decided to go left and right.

"incorporate arrows into your design"
"choose a stamp and use masking to stamp it"
"use 4 patterned papers"
"use ShinHan Touch Twin markers"

Ok, I knew this was going to be a challenge, but hey, that's what I live for! I decided to use the January stamp of the month (that I haven't used yet). I stamped 3 arrows and cut them out of scrap paper. Then I used that to mask the target. I stamped the target in Black, and the arrows again in Lagoon. I stamped the target again in Hollyhock and cut out just the heart for the middle.

To choose the patterned paper, I just decided on my colors, then looked through my scraps and found the first papers with those colors - Chocolate from Pathfinding, Hollyhock from Ivy Lane, Lagoon from Chalk It Up, and Kraft from Scholastic.

For my ribbon I realized that the zipper lace comes in both Hollyhock AND Lagoon, so I used both of them.

Using the markers was a little trickier, since I didn't have an outlined image to color. So I used the brown markers to distress my Sentiment piece. I may have stumbled upon a new ingenious form of distressing! Or not.

So here's my card:
 Inspiration-Bingo

Materials used:
Cardstock: White Daisy, Chocolate, Kraft
B&Ts: Pathfinding, Ivy Lane, Chalk It Up, Scholastic
Stamps: This Moment
Ink: Black, Lagoon, Hollyhock
Markers: Clay, Barely Beige

Unicorn Baby Card

I didn't feel too inspired to play in any challenges yesterday, so I made a point to play in today's challenges. They are:

Sweet Sunday Sketch
Sunday Stamps - Red, White, and Kraft
Pile It On - Fantasy
Sentimental Sundays - New Beginnings

For my fantasy element, I used the only fantastical stamp I own - Unicorn Dreams. And for the "new beginnings" element, I made this a baby card. I thought the unicorn goes well with the baby  theme. And for my red, I used Tulip, which has a touch of pink, better for babies I think.

Materials used:
Cardstock: Kraft, Tulip, White Daisy
Stamps: Unicorn Dreams
Ink: Tulip
Other: Spring Blossom Just Blooms, Burlap Ribbon, Garden Wooden Shapes

Color Dare #126

Our colors at Color My Heart this week are only neutrals - Bamboo, Champagne, and Black. I made this set of three 4"x5 1/2" note cards using one sheet of Bamboo cardstock for the bases. I layered them with Champagne, then embossed black, embossed with our quatrefoil embossing folder. This was an idea I saw on Pinterest!

Come join us this week!

Materials used:
Cardstock: Bamboo, Champagne, Black
Stamps: Potential
Ink: Black

Let Your Light Shine

Here is a masculine CAS card I made for:

I had an embellishment to put on there to try to tie the colors together, but I really thought it looked sharp just like this. So I left it as is!

Stamps: Illuminate
Ink: Black, Sorbet, Buttercup, Glacier

Christmas Critter Shaker Card

You guys know I like putting challenges together. Here are some from yesterday and today that I found quite challenging to work together, but I LOVE the finished product!

Tuesday Morning Sketches (new for me!)
Merry Monday - Critters
The Pink Elephant - Shaker Cards
Clear it out - Pink/Pink Things
Colour Q

For my pink I used Smoothie (translated from Melon Mambo), and I used Smoothie mini medleys as my "pink things." Wonderland was the paper I thought of for this combination, so I just had to add some smoothie cardstock and accents and we were good to go!

This was my first shaker card. I just happened to have a piece of acetate from my Ariana assortment that I didn't want to throw away. I stamped the penguin in Outdoor Denim and smoothie and layered him onto a piece of Wonderland B&T. I put Prisma Glitter and silver sequins in my shaker. They don't move much, but they're pretty! I wanted Grey Flannel cardstock for the background, but I didn't have any left, so I random stamped White Daisy with Grey Flannel snowflakes, and I love how it turned out!

Materials used:
Cardstock: White Daisy, Smoothie
B&Ts: Wonderland
Stamps: Wintry Wishes
Ink: Outdoor Denim, Smoothie, Grey Flannel
Other: Smoothie Mini Medleys, Prisma Glitter, silver sequins (not CTMH)

Purple Shimmer

Today I found some challenges: I liked the purple Christmas card from CASE-ing Christmas, and I thought it would go nicely with the embossing folder stamping technique at Friday Mashup.

I used the technique for the purple and blue banner panel. Here is my card:

I was looking for something to go where the big flower is, and I found these old blue flower dies made from old textured cardstock (I don't even know what color they are!). So I embossed them, filed them, and inked them to fit my card. I used a bling gem from La Belle Vie for the center. For the banner, I used Gypsy and Moonstruck inks and some homemade shimmer mist. I took this picture in direct (afternoon) sunlight so you could see the shimmer, so... sorry about the shadows!

Here is the inspiration card:

Materials used:
Cardstock: Gypsy, White Daisy
Stamps: Countdown
Ink: Gypsy, Moonstruck
Other: La Belle Vie Assortment, Blue Flower Die Cuts, Create-a-Shade Pearl Paint, Swiss Dot embossing folder (Cuttlebug, not CTMH)

Calendar - post one

This is going to be a long post, so sorry about that. I've been seeing lots of sketch challenges, but I've been meaning to finish this calendar that I started - I am putting it in the My Creations Flip Stand Album. It has 12 page protectors, so when it's opened, there is a page visible on each side. What I made today are the pages that are opposite the calendar pages. They are basically 6"x6" cards. I used White Daisy for the bases, and different paper packs for the colors. In addition to the sketch challenges, these are the challenges I am entering these cards into.
