Lemonade Card

So, maybe some of you are wondering why I haven't been posting much lately. Well, in addition to taking care of my 4 wonderful children (my daughter had her 6th birthday yesterday), I've been working on this:

This is the first sweater I've ever knitted. It took me a long time of working on it during the day and the evenings along with my regular responsibilities. I'm planning on knitting more too, but hopefully I can make some cards during day times and knit in the evenings.

The card I made today only took a couple minutes to make, so hopefully they'll go like that more often! I was playing with my Taste of Summer Paper pack. Since I don't have the coordinating stamp set yet, I used the fruit slice from the Jubilee WOTG and the sentiment from Paper Doll.

The colors are from Color Throwdown, the sketch is from Freshly Made, and I am participating in the CAS challenge from Simon Says. I also want to submit this to the Word Art Wednesday challenge (I would love to use their Bible verses on my cards, but my printer is out of ink right now).

Materials used:
Cardstock: Black, White Daisy
B&Ts: Taste of Summer
Stamps: Paper Doll, Jubilee WOTG
Ink: Sunny Yellow, Black
Other: Gold Sequins

Happy Birthday!

I decided to look up some of my favorite Sunday challenges today while I was waiting on the laundry. Here's what I found:

Sweet Sunday Sketch
Sunday Stamps - Black, White, Rust, and Saffron
Order of the Opus Gluei - Black and another color
Pile It On - Sentiment as focal point
Sentimental Sundays - Bling, buttons, or brads

So, I made this card:

For the color challenges, I used black with shades of beige. The 'saffron' is Bamboo, and the 'rust' is Kraft. I used my mini birthday stamp for the focal sentiment. I decorated with gold shimmer trim, gold sequins, and hemp.

Materials used:
Cardstock: White Daisy, Kraft
Fundamentals: Basics
Stamps: Heartfelt Birthday Wish
Ink: Black
Other: Gold Shimmer Trim, Gold Sequins, Natural Hemp, Journaling Pen

Color Dare 134

This week at Color My Heart we are challenging you to use Cotton Candy, Olive, and Lagoon with Black and White as your neutrals. I admit, this is an odd combination of colors, but the results are actually quite appealing. I CASED a card off of pinterest using just CTMH products. I sponged up a flourish stamp with the three colors and stamped it on a White Daisy die cut card. Then I stamped a butterfly onto scrap White Daisy cardstock, colored it in with Lagoon alcohol markers, fussy cut it, and popped it up on the card with a glue dot. The sentiment is stamped in black.

Come play along with us this week!

Materials used:
Cardstock: White Daisy
Stamps: Dreams Come True, Your own Kind of Wonderful
Ink: Black, Cotton Candy, Olive, Lagoon

Color Dare 133 - Wanderful

Hi! This week at Color My Heart we are creating projects using colors from the Wanderful paper packet. Funny story - my friend challenged me to join her in a New Year's resolution to not eat sweets for as long as we could. Whoever gave in first would have to buy the other one a CTMH paper packet. She gave in and ate some lemon cheesecake, so she bought me the Wanderful paper pack! That's how I came to own it. I ordered the compliments to go with it, and they were perfect for this layout of my parents sending me off to my study abroad in Berlin - 2002.

The layout is Make it From your Heart vol. 2 pattern 3. I feel like it needs something, but I can't decide what. Any suggestions?

Come join us this week!

Materials used:
Cardstock: Colonial White, Crystal Blue, Gypsy, Flaxen
B&Ts: Wanderful

Color Dare 132

This week at Color My Heart we are challenging you to use Black and White with Whisper. I saw a set of notecards on Pinterest that I wanted to CASE, so I made this set using CTMH products. They are very CAS. I really love the music theme, since I am a musician at heart!

I used one 12x12 piece of Black cardstock for the bases - these are cut to be 4x5.5, Then I used one 12x12 piece of white daisy cardstock for the front panels and the insides. I stamped the music images in Whisper and the sentiment in black. It is from the Just for You stamp set.

The first one is a treble cleff card.

The second one is a piano key card.

The third one is made with washi tape and sheet music background stamped on Whisper cardstock.

Come play along with us and show us your Black, White, and Whisper creations!

Materials used:
Cardstock: Black, White Daisy, Whisper
Stamps: Just For You, Universal Backgrounds, A Melody, Sweet Music
Ink: Whisper, Black
Other: Slate Polka Dot Washi Tape
