Freshly Made & Color Dare #36

I chose Claire colors for this week's color dare: Hollyhock, Blush, Sunset, and Outdoor Denim.
I was going for a very clean-lined, retro look. I really like the Durables studs because they remind me of those tacks in retro-style furniture. To color the Kraft Border, I used my Outdoor Denim alcohol marker. That seemed to work really well!

Materials used:
Cardstock: Hollyhock, White Daisy, Outdoor Denim
B&Ts: Claire
Stamps: Thoughtful Tidings
Ink: Outdoor Denim
Markers: Sunset, Outdoor Denim
Other: Outdoor Denim & Sunset Mini Medleys, Round Durables Studs, Paradise Just Blooms, Color Ready Kraft Borders

  1. Nicely done, Sarah! I don't remember those durable studs, but I agree with you. They have a very retro feel to them. Someone (hint, hint) should combine them with the flowers from "Girl Power" to go all 70's!! :)

  2. The sketch works really well for this paper pack--just a strip of that busy floral paper to tie in all the colours. I like how you matted all the elements. And colouring the Kraft border strip worked out great! I have a whole pack of those and don't remember break them out. Giving this a try soon... Happy Easter, Sarah!

  3. Great card and use of the sketch. I love this thank you note and the nice creative touches you have included. Awesome!

  4. Lovely card Sarah! I love those colors and papers - excellent use of the sketch! Thanks for joining us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!

  5. Gorgeous card, Sarah! I love those colors and your embellishments are lovely. Thanks for playing along with my sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!

  6. Awesome job with the sketch! I am really getting hooked on Claire this week! ;)
