Color Dare 149

Happy 4th of July! I love this holiday :) I have a friend who is having a baby in November and her nursery is decorated with a nautical theme and the colors red, white and blue. So I am making her this baby blanket and planning to give it to her on Saturday at the 4th of July picnic. I thought it was appropriate. So I used the colors from this week's Color My Heart dare that match the blanket to make a baby card for her in a patriotic theme.

I CASEd this card from one I found on Pinterest. I absolutely LOVE how it turned out, and it will go great with the blanket (if I ever finish it on time!).

Come play along this week!

July Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Hi! Welcome to the July SOTM Blog Hop. This blog hop is a big circle. So if you have come from Sheila Bennett's blog you are on the right track. When you're done, keep hopping to see lots of beautiful artwork!

Today we are showcasing Life is Wonderful! This is a set of 8 stamps.

Here is what I made:

I used the Seaside paper pack to match the colors for the Nacho Average Challenge. The sketch is from Tuesday Morning Sketches. My centerpiece is the large word "Wonderful" from the July stamp set. I thought it was perfect just by itself, therefore making the card good for any occasion. I spiced it up with a few sequins from the Coral Reef assortment. I used the custom cutting system from CM to cut the oval - it is one of my favorite craft products (sorry, not CTMH). And I used my signature style for this card - matted pieces. I just love the clean, layered look. I'm entering this into the challenge at Clear it Out.

If you would like this stamp set, you can get it for only $5 when you order $50 from my website. Or you can get it free with a $25 stamp purchase in July!

Now hop on over to Haley Dyer's blog to see her beautiful creation!

Color Dare 145

Hi everybody! I love it when we have a whole rainbow of colors to play with at Color My Heart. This week our colors are Sunset, Honey, Topiary, Pacifica, Gypsy, Desert Sand, & White Daisy. I thought the Desert Sand would be perfect for an ice cream cone, so I made this ice cream card with our June SOTM based on one I found on Pinterest.

I'm still working on perfecting my technique with our Shin Han markers, but I did the best I could. I used Clay to fill in the cones, but I had to tone it down a lot because it's not quite the same as Desert Sand. Almost, but not quite. I used a bit of Barely Beige and a lot of the colorless blender.

Come play along with us this week. I'm curious to see what you all will come up with, with so many colors!

Materials used:
Cardstock: White Daisy
Stamps: Ice Cream Dream, Stars Shine Bright, Illuminate, Always Grateful, Classmate Alphabet
Ink: Sunset, Honey, Topiary, Pacifica, Gypsy, Desert Sand, Black
Markers: Marigold, Golden Yellow, Vivid Green, Cerulean Blue Light, Lavender, Clay, Barely Beige, Colorless Blender
