Some of my knitting friends are sending a "Sunshine Package" to a friend in New Zealand. It's a cold, dreary winter there, and she's not doing well. Since she's getting married soon, I made her this accordion album with our new paper pack - La Vie En Rose. I used the "Tie the Knot" Cricut cartridge and the CTMH stamp sets The Happy Couple and Precious Love with Vogue Alphabet for the names. I used several layouts from Imagine, just reduced in size and altered a bit. I used almost a half of the paper pack. I didn't add extra embellishments because I'm sending it to NZ and I want it to remain shipable, and not risk things falling off. :)
Materials used:
Cardstock: White Daisy, Black, Pomegranate, Poppy, Pixie, Baby Pink
B&Ts: La Vie En Rose
Stamps: Vogue Alphabet, The Happy Couple, Precious Love
Ink: Black
Other: Tie the Knot (not CTMH),

Ode to Butterflies
I was a bit stumped with Wednesday's challenges this week. The colors at Color Throwdown were a bit unusual. And the sketch from Freshly Made left everything to the imagination. But after I slept on it I came up with this:
And this little guy was my inspiration:
We raised him from an egg and let him go last week. He had a buddy, but the poor guy drowned after falling into the water. That's when my hubby covered the jar with the foil. I didn't get a pic of him with his wings spread apart, but it was so majestic!
Challenges:
Color Throwdown - Green, Orange, Black
Freshly Made -Sketch
Word Art Wednesday - I included a scripture about trusting God
Simon Says - Back to school (This would make a great encouragement card for a student going back to school)
Materials used:
Cardstock: Sweet Leaf, Black, Sunset, White Daisy
Stamps: Everlasting Life, Your Own Kind of Wonderful, Backgrounds and Borders
Ink: Black, Sunset
Other: Damask Embossing Folder

Color Dare 155 with Zoe
It took me a while, but I finally pulled out my Zoe kit to make a layout for the Color Dare at Color My Heart. This week we are challenging you to make a project using the colors from the kit: Canary, Sorbet, Glacier, Sweet Leaf, Slate, Whisper, and White Daisy.
We took our kids to the zoo on Sunday, and I gathered up some pictures from my cell phone and my husband's I-pod, I got them printed and used them for this layout. It is a level 2 layout, and the sayings in the complements are just perfect for these photos. The layout is Creative Rhythm from Cherish. For my style of scrapbooking, Cherish is my go-to book because you can usually fit lots of photos on a page without a lot of cropping or enlarging.
Come join us! You have until tomorrow (Thursday) at 9pm central.

Pretty Petals
I was looking at the Tuesday challenges, and noticed that they all really work well together! I love it when that happens. The sketch is from Nacho Average Challenge. The Color scheme is from ColourQ which works really well with the inspiration photo from Runway Inspired. The challenge at Clear it Out is Back to School and Office Supplies. I thought this might make a great teacher card. For the office supplies, I used brads in the center of my red flowers.
Materials used:
Cardstock: White Daisy
B&Ts: Brushed
Stamps: Pretty Petals
Ink: Tulip, Canary, Lagoon, Slate
Other: Lagoon Satin Ribbon, Fanfare Level 2 Assortment, Art Philosophy

Sunshine Sunflowers
In my last post I mentioned that I made two cards last night for some Monday challenges. Here is the second card. I made it for Heart 2 Heart, The Shabby Tea Room, and Mojo Monday. I used our retired Friendship Bouquet stamp set for the sunflowers. I love playing with these stamps!
I used Art Philosophy to quickly cut out the little sunflower embellishments. The sentiment was from the Scroll Album WOTG.
I haven't blogged in a while because I've been working on a lot of knitting/crocheting projects. you can scroll down to my previous post to see some of my finished projects!
Materials used:
Cardstock: Chocolate, Colonial White, Honey
Stamps: Friendship Bouquet, Scroll Album WOTG
Ink: Cocoa
Markers: Barely Beige, Golden Yellow, Clay, Pastel Green, Leaf Green, Sap Green
Other: Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge
