I made a Studio J layout for my color dare project this week. You have to have 4 layouts in order to make a purchase, and I only have one, so I haven't bought it yet. It's cute though, isn't it?
I used the Elemental paper pack and switched up the colors of the B&T papers. That's one of my favorite parts of Studio J!
Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to check out Color My Heart this week!

Triple time technique
I have never made a triple time card before, but I like the result. It is the challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. I used the colors from Dynamic Duos - crumb cake and soft suede. I translate those to be Desert Sand and Bamboo. I used the sketch from RetroSketches. Here is my card:
The inside says "joy." I cut out a shape from Art Philosophy and stamped the coordinating shape from one of the Art Philosophy stamp sets. The sentiment and the poinsettia are from the same stamp set. I won the washi tape from a blog hop, and this is my first time using it. I think it looks cool!
Materials used:
Cardstock: White Daisy, Bamboo
Stamps: Art Philosophy
Ink: Desert Sand, Bamboo
Other: Black Ribbon, Neutral Baker's Twine, washi tape (not CTMH), black buttons (not CTMH)

Retro Sketches and Dynamic Duos
Here is a one-layer card using masking and generational stamping. They are a little tricky to make right. I gave it my best effort. I used the Retro Sketch and the colors from Dynamic Duos:
Materials used:
Cardstock: White Daisy
Stamps: Mad About You
Ink: Cranberry, Black
Markers: Black
Another Christmas Card
Here is my third card for the design team application at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. I used the sketch from Crazy 4 Challenges.
I just love the rustic look, so when they came out with the wood grain background paper in bulk from the Dakota paper pack, I was in heaven! I adore this paper! But I haven't used the houndstooth pattern on the opposite side of it yet. When I saw the recipe challenge at 52 CCT, to use patterned paper and to decorate the inside of your card, I knew it would be perfect! I could use the pattern paper as my card base, so the pretty houndstooth pattern would show on the inside!

The recipe also calls for glitter, so I put red glitter on my holly berries, and gold glitter on the banner "string" to tie it in with the gold ribbon.
Here is the inside:
I added red glitter to the holly berries on the inside and green to the holly leaves.
Materials used:
Cardstock: White Daisy
B&T's: Dakota
Stamps: Remarkable Wreath, Christmas Love
Ink: Barn Red, Olive
Other: gold ribbon and extra fine glitter (not CTMH)
White snow card
Here is a card I made for these 3 challenges:
The Sweet Stop - Sketch
Our Creative Corner - White with Decorative Edges
Less is More - Friends

Less is More - Friends
I cut out the card using the Artiste cricut cartridge, and I also used Artiste to cut out the decorative square. I thought it need something more, so I cut out one more square 1/4 inch bigger, and matted the first square with it. I like that look. I used my (only) cuttlebug embossing folder to emboss the background piece. I was going to go to Green Bay today to buy more, but we'll see if that'll happen.
Materials used:
Cardstock: White Daisy
Stamps: Childhood Portrait, Winter Joy
Ink: Lilac Mist
Other: White Daisy Grosgrain Ribbon, White Button, Colonial White Waxy Flax

Here is my scrapbook layout for color dare #26 - black and white with a pop of one other color. My color was Lagoon:

Here is my card for the Runway Inspired challenge and Black Tie Fridays:
Materials used:
Cardstock: White Daisy
Stamps: Card Chatter - Sympathy, Flirty WOTG
Ink: Sky, Pacifica, Black
ColourQ and CAS-ual Fridays
I made a "round of applause" card for CAS-ual Fridays. It's a pun, see, because we're supposed to use something "round" on our card and make it a "you did it" type of card. I took a little inspiration from design team member, Kimberly, and stamped my "congratulations" around the outside of a big circle. Then I put the "Bravo" in the middle. The colors are from ColourQ, which I interpreted into CTMH colors as Cotton Candy, Cranberry, Grey Wool, and Honey. Here is my card:
I used our alcohol marker sets to color in the roses. First I colored in all the sections with the lightest marker. Then I took the dark marker and shaded the shadowed areas. Then I blended the shaded areas into the lighter areas with the light marker. After I did that, it looked like stripes on the petals. So I took my light marker and colored in the entire flower one more time, just to blend it all together. The insides are colored with 2 coats of honey.
Materials used:
Cardstock: Colonial White, Grey Wool
Stamps: Kudos from Artiste, Card Word Puzzle
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black (not CTMH)
Markers Sets: Cranberry, Cotton Candy, Honey
Other: Sparkles Brown and Tan, Garden Wooden Shapes

Shabby Purse
I got out my Artiste cartridge again today and made a little Christmas gift holder purse for The Shabby Tea Room and Merry Monday. I really like how it turned out!
I found some old white muslin in my fabric scraps, so I cut a strip, ran a running stitch through it, pulled the thread to scrunch it, then wound it on a glue dot to form a flower. It turned out better than I thought it would! This is the Shabby Tea Room Inspiration Photo. We were to use the colors in the photo, fabric/ribbon, and roses.
Here is the Merry Monday sketch:
I used the hole of the purse handles as the big circle in the middle of the sketch. The rose is the little red dot. Just in case you couldn't see how I interpreted the sketch. :)
Materials used:
Cardstock: Colonial White, Olive
B&Ts: Stella
Stamps: Pear & Partridge WOTG
Ink: Blush, Chocolate Distressing Ink
Other: Rhinestone Brads, Clear Sparkles, Color Ready Seam Binding Ribbon, white fabric (not CTMH

Purple and Silver Christmas Card
Here is the second card I made for the design team call at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. Their challenge was a color challenge: purple, silver, and white. I used the sketch from RetroSketches, rotated.
I used the Artiste Cricut cartridge for the fancy square in the middle. This is the first time I used the glitter paper from the Whooo's your Valentine kit. It's so cool! The ornament was sponged with petal ink, the top embossed with silver embossing powder, and then overlayed with a second layer that I dotted with silver Glitz.
Materials used:
Cardstock: White Daisy, Petal, Silver Glitter paper
Stamps: Holiday Magic
Ink: Versa Mark, Petal
Other: Silver Embossing Powder, Silver Glitz Glitter Gel, Dimensional Elements Ornaments, Artiste Cricut cartridge, lace (not CTMH)

Simple Shabby Birthday Card
Okay, so I know I said I was going to go do some scrapbooking, but I couldn't resist one more card! This one is for a very elegant Shabby Tea Room challenge, The Pink Elephant (celebrate), and the sketch is the Sweet Sunday Sketch by Karen Giron.
The Shabby Tea Room challenge is to use the colors from the picture, to use a ribbon/bow, and put a flower on it.
Materials used:
B&Ts: Magnifique
Cardstock: Colonial White
Stamps: Piece of Cake
Ink: Tuxedo Black (not CTMH), Chocolate Distressing Ink
Markers: Sky, Honey
Other: Bouquet Assortment, Colonial White Ribbon, lace (not CTMH)
Christmas Snow Card
I really want to get some scrapbooking done today, but I wanted to make a Christmas card first. This one is for Mojo Monday, Merry Monday, and Heart2Heart (snow).
This card turned out a little busier than I expected, but it's not bad. It is all level 2, which means no stamping. Here are the challenges:
Materials used:
B&Ts: Magnifique
Cardstock: Colonial White, Pacifica
My Stickease: Magnifique
Other: Mistletoe Level 2 Assortment, Red Glitter Gems

Christmas already?
52 Christmas Card Throwdown is having a design team call and if there is any challenge blog that I want to be a part of, it's that one. Ever since I found it 2 months ago, I have just adored it! To make all my Christmas cards throughout the year would just be wonderful. So the requirements are to participate in each challenge through January. Here's my first one:
The challenge for Less is More is to make a card in black and white and use a splash of color. I used Cranberry. This is the 52 CCT sketch:
Materials used:
Cardstock: Black, White Daisy
Stamps: Very Merry Christmas
Ink: Tuxedo Black (not CTMH)
Other: Cranberry Grosgrain Ribbon, Red Glitter Gems, Cricut Artiste Collection, and I got to use my NEW Cuttlebug!
Neutrals and Deconstructed Sketch
I made this card for the Neutrals challenge at Color My Heart. The sketch is from DeconstructingJen.
Materials used:
Cardstock: Cocoa, Chocolate, Bamboo
Stamps: Thoughtful Tidings
Ink: VersaMark
Other: Gold Embossing Powder, Kraft Borders, Chocolate Ribbon
I finally got to use my NEW Cuttlebug which my parents got me for my birthday (which is tomorrow)! I just used the folder that came with it. I like it, but I'm going to have to go on a shopping spree soon!

2013 Calendar
Happy New Year everybody! I had some free time yesterday, so I spent it making this calendar. For the top part, I used Workshop on the Go layouts that I had made last year and hadn't used yet, including Scholastic, Lucy, Elemental, Florentine, Pemberly, Avonlea, and Superhero. The stamping of the calendar was the fun part. Enjoy!
January - Crystal Blue
February - Ruby
March - Topiary
April - Sorbet
May - Gypsy
June - Sunset
July - Honey
August - Lagoon
September - Goldrush
October - Twilight
November - Autumn Terracotta
December - Cranberry
Stamp Sets used: Pair-a-Phrase, Cocktail Alphabet, Jubilation, Year Round Cheer, Capture the Date.
I'm going to enter this into the Simon Says "New Something" challenge, for a new year and a new calendar (plus I broke out 2 new sotm sets that I hadn't used yet!).
