Golden Doves at Christmas

Here is a fun new blog called CASE-ing Christmas. I like this inspiration card, and I was inspired by the colors and the dove and the layers. This card also fits the black and gold challenge at Pink Elephant. So here is what I came up with:

Calendar Cover

They do a lot of mixed media and different kinds of art over at Our Creative Corner. I usually stick to cards and scrapbook pages, but I decided to branch out a little. Their challenge is to reuse something leftover from Christmas. I had a load of Christmas cards, and I wanted to make a calendar for the year, so I decorated the front of a Flip Stand Album that I can use to put calendar pages in (calendar coming later.) I used an image from one of the cards on the front. It was a sweet card from my cousin and I could tell they put some thought into it. So I cut out the little house and added it to my cover. I painted a little over it so it looks like it's in a blizzard!

Some of the materials I used are CTMH, but some are not. The CTMH materials are:

Snowflakes

I am happy to be able to play along with some Saturday challenges today. My oldest daughter woke me up early. She had thoughtfully made me breakfast this morning (cold toast with a lump of butter on it!), so I decided that instead of going back to bed, I would make a card. The challenges are:

For my plus one at Less is More, I used Dutch Blue. It is a retired color, but I have a lot of it. I really like it with this combination. I used a snowflake embossing folder and some shimmer trim for the diagonal line. The two snowflakes are from 2 different Cricut cartridges.

Winter, Snow, and Blue

Here's a card I made for the Friday challenges. I like having lazy days where I don't have to do much, and I get to create!

The only felt I had was some blue letters and some pink letters, and I thought blue was more wintry. So I used them to spell out the word "snow" then I used the Card Word Puzzle stamp set to make a silly pun -"thank you snow much." I used the Frosted cardmaking stamp set for the snowflakes and some silver sequins I got at Walmart. The color I used is Pacifica - the letters, ink, and Paper Fundamentals.

Color Dare 124

Hi! Happy New Year! We have an exciting change at Color My Heart this year. We will now be including neutrals with the color combos. I really like this week's colors: Glacier, Kraft, and White Daisy. Since the neutrals are already provided, we won't need to add extras. Black and white are exceptions, unless otherwise stated.

I made a card CASED from one that I saw on Pinterest. It was a Christmas card, but I thought it would make a cute new baby card.

I used Art Philosophy to cut out some stockings, then I cut the top off of them and layered them so they look like baby booties instead of stockings. I scored the paper to look like argyle, and I used a background stamp for the gingham.

Some Monday Cards

I made these cards on Monday for some challenges, but then I couldn't find my camera battery charger, and the battery was dead so I couldn't take the picture. I finally found it, so here they are. I'm getting started on my Christmas cards early this year!

Color Dare 123 with Yuletide Carol

We have a two-week challenge at Color My Heart. We are using colors from the Yuletide Carol paper pack - Ruby & New England Ivy. I made this card as a custom order. Our pastor's wife wanted something "vintagy" for her mom's Christmas card and she loved this little girl. So I put the sticker on the card. It was quick and easy.

This card is 7"x4 3/4" because she wanted it to fit her envelope. Come play along with us this week at Color My Heart.
