Rainbows and Springtime

I made this Rainbow card on Saturday, and the Floral Invitation yesterday, and am just getting around to posting them today.

The first card is inspired by the inspiration photo at Fusion. I noticed that the Fusion sketch was so similar to the one over at CAS(E) This Sketch, so I combined them and am entering it into both challenges.

To make the rainbow I die cut a series of dotted ovals with my cuttlebug, cut them in half, and layered them on top of each other. I stamped and colored that cupcake and put a "cherry" sparkle on top, and even though my 4-year old helped me with this card, I'm going to give it to her for her 5th birthday at the end of this month. She loves it so much!

Materials used:
Cardstock: White Daisy, Cranberry, Sunset, Canary, Topiary, Indian Corn Blue, Outdoor Denim, Gypsy
Stamps: Pun Fun, Balloon Animals
Other: Red Sparkles

For my second card, I used the brand new stamp set available from our hostess collection. The big floral stamp was perfect for the top and bottom of the sketch. I used the sketch from CAS Colours and Sketches. The them of springtime was from The Paper Players, so I used flowers and these pretty colors from Sunday Stamps. I interpreted them as: Peacock, Lagoon, Flaxen, Sorbet, and Vineyard Berry.

I used base and shade stamping with the Sorbet, Vineyard Berry, and Lagoon Flowers. I watercolored the leaves with Flaxen ink, and the tiny flowers with Peacock ink. The sentiment was stamped in Peacock and Vineyard Berry. I layered one section of the flowers with a cutout popped with foam tape. It was actually a happy accident, since one section of the stamped image was not complete. Instead of starting over completely, I just stamped that one section onto a scrap and fussy cut it out!

Got Snow?

Hey there! This is my second post for today. I've been able to spend a lot of time in my craft room, and I'm having a blast. I'm getting over the flu and feeling much better. I might not be able to make it to church tomorrow, and I'm getting a little cabin fever. But crafting is helping.

This card was inspired by these four challenges:

As You See It - All Askew sketch
Color My Heart - St. Paddy's Mood Board
Winter Wonderland - Fuzzy Wuzzy Christmas card
Your Next Stamp - Stars

My photo is a bit fuzzy, but the card base is green, and so is the base of the back panel. I hope I can get my computer fixed soon to be able to upload from my camera, so the pictures can be clearer!

It was quite a challenge to fit all those themes into one card, but I feel like I succeeded. What do you think?

Materials used:
Cardstock: New England Ivy, White Daisy
B&Ts: Lucky
Stamps: Got Snow
Ink: Olive
Other: Chipboard Stars, Gold Glitter paper, Enamel shapes, Black Bitty Sparkles, Black and Gold Ribbon, snowflake embossing folder (not CTMH)

Christmas and a Birthday

Good morning and happy Saturday! I've been sick lately, so I stayed home this morning instead of doing my normal workout/shopping that I usually do. I was thrilled to be able to make a couple of cards for the Saturday challenges. I apologize for the fuzzy photos - I'm having trouble with my camera and had to take them with my iPad.

The first card is a CAS birthday card that I am entering into these challenges:

Just us Girls: Birthday
Less is More: Horoscope
Addicted to CAS: Fluffy

I found a fluffy zodiac symbol in my stamp collection in the form of this cute, cuddly lion. I trust in the Creator God, and not in signs from the stars to guide my life, so I'm not at all into horoscopes. But I do like constellations, and lions that God made! Someone small in my life is going to love this card.

First, I stamped the lion on scrap paper and cut it out, then I stamped it onto my base and masked it with the cutout. I dipped my paintbrush into the sunflower ink and then painted the sunburst around the card. My husband says it looks like the lion is breaking through the card!

Materials used:
Cardstock: Sunflower, White Daisy
Stamps: Life's a Jungle, Just To Say Cricut Collection
Ink: Chocolate, Creme Brulee, Sunflower

My second card is a Christmas card for 52CCT and it includes a coffee theme for Crazy 4 Challenges.

I used the sketch from 52 CCT with Snowhaven paper. I pieced together a saying from the Treats of Friendship and Snowhaven cardmaking workshop stamp sets using the masking technique. The Merry Christmas stamp is from the Christmas Love stamp set.

Materials used:
Cardstock: White Daisy, Black
B&Ts: Snowhaven
Stamps: Treats of Friendship, Snowhaven Cardmaking WOTG, Christmas Love
Ink: Cranberry, Black
Other: Red Shimmer Trim, Red Enamel Gems
ShinHan Touch Twin markers: Carmine, Clay, Barely Beige
