This is how it looks when I edit it in Pic Monkey.

And this is how it looks when I edit it in Picasa. What do you think?

Using up Scraps for ABC Challenge!

Hi! I'm so honored that I was asked to join the design team for ABC Challenges! This is my first time participating as a Design Team member! The challenge this week is to use up some scraps. I had some little pieces of Footloose leftover, so I took a scrap of Bamboo for my card base, and I just arranged the scraps in a fun geometric pattern. I like this kind of look! I also used one of the extra Dimensional Elements complements - the starfish.

Please come play along with us this week at ABC Challenges. We'd love to see what kind of "scrappy" card you can come up with!

I'm also entering this into the "beach" theme challenge at Order of the Opus Gluei.

Materials used:
Cardstock: Bamboo
B&Ts: Footloose
Complements: Footloose

Gotta love picnics!

Here is a card I made for Sweet Stop Sketches and Crazy4Challenges:

I loved the Crazy4Challenges picnic challenge so much that I decided to go on a real picnic!
This is my hubby cooking the burgers.

Two of my young'uns swinging together!

Burgers all ready to eat. I tried to take a picture of everyone eating, but the camera died. Oh well. We had lots of fun!

Materials used:
Cardstock: Goldrush, White Daisy
B&Ts: Splendor (retired)
Stamps: Summer Picnic (retired)
Ink: Black, Goldrush
Markers: Black, Topiary

Less is More

I strive to sometimes make a CAS card, and I always have trouble pleasing the owners over at Less is More. I really liked their high heels in the inspiration photo, so I brought out this high-heeled diva stamp. I got the card layout from the SU catalog. I hope this is CAS enough for them, because I'm not entering it into any other challenges.

What do you think?

Materials used:
Cardstock: Whisper, White Daisy
Stamps: Fashionista
Ink: Black, Slate
Other: Black Baker's Twine

52CCT July Embellishment Challenge - Stitching

Hi! This week for 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown we have an embellishment challenge for you. You must use stitching on your card, whether real or faux. Also, it must be plainly visible. I used real and faux stitching on my card. I used white embroidery floss around the outside, and a Grey Flannel marker around the little circles.

The spin on the sketch at the Sweet Stop was to use doilies.

Materials used:
Cardstock: White Daisy
B&Ts: Wonderland (retired)
Stamps: Snowflakes
Ink: Heavenly Blue (retired), Twilight
Other: ribbon, lace, and doilies from my stash (not CTMH), Blue buttons, White Baker's Twine, White Embroidery Floss

Crazy 4 Challenges

I made this card with the fun sketch at Crazy4Challenges.

I really like this card, and it looks great in person with the dimension of the foam tape on the banner sentiment. I'm not sure why, but the picture didn't turn out very good.

Materials used:
Cardstock: Champagne, Sorbet
B&Ts: Clementine
Stamps: Artiste Celebration
Ink: Saddle
Other: Cricut Artiste Cartridge

Whaley Good

The second card I made today (before watching 3 episodes of Downton Abbey), is a water-themed card for these challenges:

Heart 2 Heart - water, water everywhere
Sweet Sketch Wednesday
The Pink Elephant Challenge - Monochromatic Colors

My monochromatic colors on this card are Lilac Mist, Heavenly Blue (both retired), and Outdoor Denim. The sentiment says "Have a Whaley good time." I used my "tiny bubbles" embossing folder, stamped the sand dollar on the canvas button, and trimmed my milepost star to look like a starfish to add to the oceany feel of the card. I had so much fun with that!

Materials used:
Cardstock: Lilac Mist, Heavenly Blue, White Daisy, Outdoor Denim
Stamps: Under the Sea, Footloose WOTG
Ink: Lilac Mist
Other: Outdoor Denim Chevron Ribbon, Canvas Badge Buttons, Milepost Shapes, Prisma Glitter

Apple of my Eye

I wanted to make several cards this morning, but I only got around to making two. I just had to watch some episodes of Downton Abbey. This was the first one. I am participating in these challenges:

Freshly Made Sketches
Color Throwdown
Simon Says Stamps - Summer Food/Drink
Pile It On - Just because/thinking of you

I thought the colors in the Color Throwdown inspiration picture looked an awful lot like our Viva exclusive paper pack that we got at convention. I just had to throw some pink in there, and it was perfect. So I used Hollyhock as my card base. The apple was stamped in second generation Juniper. So the colors I chose (Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, Strawberry Slush, and Rich Razzleberry) are Juniper, Sunset, Hollyhock, and Smokey Plum.

Materials used:
Cardstock: White Daisy, Hollyhock
B&Ts: Viva (convention exclusive)
Stamps: Mayberry WOTG
Ink: Smokey Plum, Juniper
Other: Sunset Baker's Twine
