Color Dare with Deconstructed Sketch

Hi everybody! We are asking you to create a project with shades this week. The colors are Twilight, Ruby, and Olive. I made a frosty winter card with my new penguin stamp set. Aren't they cute?

Album Conest Layout #2

For my second layout, I used Dakota along with Scholastic. I used lots of strips and ribbons, and I made flowers out of ribbons.

I'm sorry this picture is blurry. The first page doesn't have any interactive elements on it, but the second one has 4 flip flaps. Here are some close-ups of the title:

On this layout, I sprayed some black reinker/pearl paint shimmer mist on the colonial white paper, and I hand stitched all around both pages with chocolate embroidery floss.

I used Footloose paper along with the Dimensional Elements complements. I added some old Chocolate ribbon and some liquid glass for the water droplet effect.

I did some blurred vision random stamping on the bottom panel to imitate the pattern on her skirt while the card base is left white to mimic her white blouse. The girl in the middle is just because I wanted to emphasize the high fashion of this card inspiration. I brought out my deckle-edged scissors from my old scrapbook days to mat the center panel. That's a blast from the past!

Masculine Card for OWH

I looked on OWH's website and saw that they have some challenges. Well, if you know me, you know I like to combine challenges, so I decided to combine ALL of them. There is a masculine challenge for Midweek Throwdown, a sketch challenge, and a color challenge for bootcamp homework. operationwritehome.org

I made a masculine card using the sketch and this color scheme: 60% Juniper, 30% Colonial White, and 10% Chocolate.

Card and Box from the "G" Key

The challenge at Rose Blossom Garden was to use the G key from the Artiste Cricut cartridge. I went a little overboard and cut out everything on the key (except the doily and the "g's"). I've never done that before because I'm a little scared of my Cricut. But it was so much fun to see what could be made! I used the colors from Color Throwdown and translated them into Smoothie, Lagoon, Buttercup, and Kraft. Dotty for You worked PERFECTLY for those colors! I cut the box and the card in Kraft, then decorated the outsides with various colors of cardstock and dotted B&T paper. Here are the other challenges I am entering:

To make the ice cream cone on the card, I masked portions of the party hat from Life is Tweet, stamped them upside down in Desert Sand and Lagoon, and then masked and stamped the balloon in lagoon for the ice cream. We are going to King's Island in a few weeks, and they have a famous blue ice cream. That inspired me to stamp the ice cream blue! I'm looking forward to trying it!

This box is really neat! I think I will give it to my niece when we go to visit for an early birthday present. The card has a slot for a gift card inside (my Cricut messed up and cut it crooked, so I didn't take a picture of the inside, but it will still fit a gift card), and the box is excellent for holding little candies or goodies!

Album Contest - Layout #1

I tried to use a different, current paper pack for each of my album layouts. This one uses Buzz & Bumble. It has a food theme, and the B&B "honey" theme is a metaphor for food, as you'll see in the verse below. I thought it fit nicely. This layout really looks much better in person than in my photos. I'm just not a great photographer. Here is the whole layout:

The title is "for the Love of Cooking." Here is the left page with the first two flip flaps open:

The inside title says "and Eating." Here are close-ups of the journaling so you can read what I wrote. I made the journaling boxes by stamping the dotted stamp in "Enjoy!" several times.

I made these faux wax seals with the "Family Love" stamp set. I used about 5 layers of gold embossing powder before stamping into it. The flower layers were cut out on the Cricut with Art Philosophy in Buttercup and sanded. The center is just an antiqued gold stud. I used Artiste and Art Philosophy for the titles. The hexagons were cut out using Artiste and stamped with the "Honeycomb" stamp set in various colors.
