Vacation Title page

I have been trying to finish my vacation album from 2019. I’ve finally been able to finish the title page, and it was serendipitous because a I had these papers laid out, but didn’t really like them. When I saw the Spots and Stripes challenge from Lasting Memories, I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I flipped over the papers, and they had stripes and spots on the back. I love it so much! Then I added a pocket card, trimmed, that had been sitting out for the title. I love how it turned out!

Old and New

I have finally finished the last layout of my childhood album. My mom took these pictures of me getting ready for my wedding. I am participating in the Lasting Memories challenge for July: Opposites Attract. This layout is for the Old and New theme. I used a brand new paper pack, never been opened, and it worked perfectly for the theme of this layout. I did my wedding album 17 years ago, so I didn’t know what I’d use the True Love kit for, especially since my wedding colors were red and gold. The colors fit these pictures so well though. They are almost 18 years old, so I consider that old enough!

Materials used:
Cardstock: White Daisy
B&Ts: True Love
Stamps: Vogue Alphabet
Ink: Sugarplum
Other: Bronze sequins

Big and Small

I found yet another scrapbook challenge. This one has a new theme every month and a new challenge every week. It is called Lasting Memories. I have been working on my childhood album from pictures my mom gave me. I am almost done, and one of the last pages besides my wedding is my graduation from college. The challenge is Opposites attract: Big and Small. So I took a pre-made layout, added my pictures, and then added two embellishments: one big and one small. The big one is a silhouette of a girl in cap and gown with a diploma. The small one is a stamped image of a graduation cap and the “Congratulations, Class of ‘04.” This is a companion layout, so the title is on the other page.

The kit I used was I Heart Us Workshops Your Way. I made it last year, and I’m glad to finally be able to use it! The stamp set is Happy Holidays. I used Mint and Intense Black stamp pads. The foam silhouette was something someone gave me. Thanks for visiting, and come back soon!

Family Layout

I found a new scrapbooking challenge called Challenge Yourself that is about getting yourself onto your scrapbook layouts. The theme this month is “We are Family.” I made this layout today of my family when I was about 21 years old, and a distant family reunion.

Materials used:

Cardstock: White Daisy

B&T’s: Serenity

Stamps: Family is Forever

Ink: Sapphire, Toffee

Other: metal and wooden accents

Froggy in the Sunshine

I have been doing lots of organizing lately. Yesterday I went through my leftover Cricut cuts wondering why the heck I keep some of these things! I’m playing in the WTHeck embellishments challenge at Shopping Our Stash. I had also realized I never finished this frog card I had started, not knowing what to add to it. Today’s Paperminutes theme made me pull it out and see if I could find a sunshine embellishment for the theme at Use Your Stuff. I found a negative I had left over from a make and take that fit perfectly so I added a wooden shape and a little heart. It was the perfect addition to my little froggy card I started at a CTMH event!

Materials used: Random CTMH cardstock and B&T paper, a stamp set I don’t own, some markers I think, and some wooden shapes and Cricut cuts

Ice Cream Sundae

I have been doing a lot of scrapbooking and organizing, and card making hasn’t been happening as much. So today I am back to a normal schedule and decided to make a card for my favorite Monday challenges. The sketch is from Atlantic Hearts and the theme of frozen treats is for Cupcake Inspirations. I am also entering it into the summer fun theme challenge at Heart 2 Heart and the kids challenge at Simon Says.

Materials used:
Cardstock: White Daisy, Cranberry, Lagoon, Cotton Candy
Fundamentals: Lagoon
Stamps: Ice Cream Dream, Just to Say…
Ink: Chocolate

CAS Christmas floral

I realized that a lot of today’s challenges could be combined into one Christmas card. The “Christmas in July” theme is very popular! So I made this for 52CCT, Less is More, Jingle Belles, and Double Trouble. I already had these poinsettias stamped, so making a traditional Christmas card with flowers and bling was very simple.

Materials used:

Cardstock: White Daisy

Stamps: Wonderful Season, Just to Say

Ink: Intense Black, Candy Apple

Other: Garnet Waxy Flax, Ruby Mini Medleys, Black Sparkles Flourishes

Rocker Christmas card

Today I decided to try something new. I went back and looked at some of the challenges I hadn’t completed yet, and I decided to try to combine them into one rocker card, which is the trend challenge for Just Us Girls. I have never made a rocker card before, so I looked up a YouTube video and figured out how easy it is. I cut a 6-inch circle and folded it in half. The rest is just decoration!

The colors are from the Paper Players, the theme for Christmas is from Paperminutes. Ich habe die Deutsche am bestens gelesen. Ich meine, mein Deutsch ist furchtbar, aber ich kann meistens verstehen. I’m also entering this into the Kids challenge at Addicted to CAS.

Materials used:

Cardstock: White Daisy, Pear & Lagoon fundamentals

Stamps: Santa Claus, Winter Joy

Ink: Lagoon, Pear

Love One Another

Today I made this card with the colors from Color Throwdown, the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches, and the technique challenge at Simon Says - create your own background. I’m also entering it into the “Look to Yourself” verse challenge at Word Art Wednesday.

I decided to use stamps and inks to make the background, and I really like the colors, and was going for a kind of watercolor look, but it just isn’t working for me. Oh well. I might try again later. I chose the verse, love one another, because it is like the challenge to “look to yourselves” - being obedient to the Lord for our spiritual growth. That’s all I have for today. Thanks for visiting.

Materials used:
Cardstock: White Daisy
B&Ts: wood grain
Stamps: He is Risen, Brushstrokes
Ink: Lagoon, Canary, Gypsy, Sorbet
Other: sparkly paper, black pen (Creative Memories)

Straw Hat Hello!

Here is a card I made for Color My Heart. The sketch is from Tuesday Morning Sketches. I noticed that the colors in the inspiration photo at Fusion are similar to the colors at the Color Dare, so I decided to do a straw hat card, and enter it into the Fusion challenge.

For the Sapphire, Sundance, Evergreen, and Glacier, I used the closest I have: I think it is Sapphire cardstock and Outdoor Denim embellishments, the inks I used are Honey, Glacier, and Topiary. I also included some light beige neutrals for the wood background and the hat. I inked around the small circle with Sapphire ink and popped it up with a double layer of foam tape to make it look more like a hat.

Materials used:

Cardstock: White Daisy, Sapphire, Champagne

B&Ts: wood grain (not CTMH)

Stamps: Love So Sweet

Ink: Sapphire, Glacier, Honey, Topiary

Other: hello die cut (Momenta), Outdoor Denim Mini Medleys

Patriotic Pride

I made this card a while back, inspired by one I saw and loved. I looked up the dimensions, the strips having been cut with die cuts. I cut them myself with the paper trimmer to the right widths, and arranged them like this on my card front. I decided to enter it into the challenge at Heart 2 Heart, because I used red white and blue, patriotic colors.

I was inspired by Karren, over at Fusion, and this card:

Materials used:

Cardstock: White Daisy, Black, Sapphire, Capri, Mink

Stamps: Love Blossoms

Ink: Intense Black, Candy Apple

Gerber

I have been scrapbooking all last week, so my card making got put on hold. But today I’m back to my regular summer schedule, so I made a card for three challenges: Atlantic Hearts, Cupcake Inspirations, and Use Your Stuff. I liked the daisies on the cupcakes, and the mood board from Use Your Stuff. So I played around with my Cricut and found the Gerber Daisy cut from the Flower Market cartridge. I used Tulip, Ruby, and Hollyhock cardstock. I also used my lace punch to make a border with the green cardstock. I think it is New England Ivy.

Materials used:

Cardstock: White Daisy, Honey, Tulip, Ruby, Hollyhock, New England Ivy, Garden Green

Stamps: To My Bestie

Ink: Tulip

Other: Flower Market Cricut cartridge, Martha Stewart lace punch (not CTMH)

CAS Sunset

I had 5 challenges today I wanted to incorporate into one card. What do you think of it? The sketch is from Tuesday Morning Sketches, the CAS theme is from CASology - windy, and colors are from CAS Colors and Sketches. The other theme from Paperminutes is balloons. The last challenge is a technique challenge from Shopping our Stash - ink blending.

The colors I chose are Vineyard Berry, Sapphire, and Gold (plus a little Canary yellow to blend into the gold). I picked a hot air balloon Cricut cut from the Artiste cartridge for the balloon theme, and made it flying through a sunset sky for the “windy” theme. The sunset was made by blending inks from stamp pads with sponge daubers. I used a white-on-white layered cut to maintain the white space of my CAS card.

It’s been raining all day, so excuse the dark photo. I tried to get a better one:

Materials used:

Cardstock: White Daisy, Sapphire

Stamps: To My Bestie

Ink: Sapphire, Vineyard Berry, Canary, Bamboo pigment ink

Other: Gold Glitter paper, Gold embossing Powder

Gnome Christmas

I figured out how to make this Christmas card using this sketch from As You See It, the “From our gnome to yours” theme from Winter Wonderland, and the colors from the Color Dare. I think it turned out ok. The 4 squares I chose for the color dare challenge were Candy Apple, New England Ivy, Avocado, and Flowers.

I also want to enter this into the Christmas card challenge at Double Trouble.

Materials used:

Cardstock: White Daisy

B&Ts: Berry Christmas

Stamps: Gnome Garden, Very Merry Christmas, A Wonderful Season (Art Philosophy)

Ink: Candy Apple, New England Ivy

Other: Tri-Blend markers- light green, Dark red, ice grey; black marker
