Color Dare with Florentine

This week at Color My Heart, we are encouraging you to make a project using these colors: Crème Brulee, Goldrush, Olive, and Twilight. Or you can make a project using these colors: Honey, Sunset and Lagoon (from the Cloud 9 cardmaking kit). You get to choose! I chose the first combo, because I have these colors in the Florentine Paper pack. I made this layout based on a pattern from Cherish called Visual Texture. I used the Florentine B&Ts and Stickease.

Please come join us and show us what YOU can make with these colors!

Thank-you card Set

There are a lot of color challenges out there that are using pink right now. So I thought the challenge at the Friday Mashup to make a set of Thank-you notes was perfect to go with all these color challenges! They also are challenging me to use stars, and the sketch at Less is More is perfect for that. So here is my set of cards, each one using a different color combo from a different challenge:

The first card uses the Dynamic Duos colors: I used Black and Smoothie.

The second card uses the colourQ colors. I used Hollyhock, Blush, Baby Pink, Kraft, and Colonial White.

For the third card I used the colors from Crazy 4 Challenges: I used Cotton Candy, Chocolate, Lagoon, and Colonial White.

The last one is for Color Throwdown. I used Blush, Sky, and Desert Sand.

Here is the Less is More sketch:

Cardstock: Colonial White, Smoothie, Black, Kraft, Baby Pink, Blush, Chocolate, Lagoon, Sky, Desert Sand

Bee Mine

I made this card last night, but couldn't decide how to finish it. That's why I'm posting it today. I decided on the Claire assortment for embellishments.

I LOVED the colors in the Inspired By photo, so I was trying to think of a paper pack I had that fit those colors. I couldn't think of one, but then I remembered my NEW papers (which will be available Feb. 1), and found that with a little chocolate cardstock, Ariana was the perfect fit! The sketch is from Pals Paper Arts, and I'm entering it into the Simon Says "make me laugh" challenge, and the "dual-sided paper" Heart2Heart Challenge.

Christmas is Coming

...Not really. But I'm still making Christmas cards to ease my stress come December! I haven't used this stamp yet, so I wasn't sure how it would turn out. I'm not sure I like this card. I think I didn't do the sketch right. What do you think?

Maybe the paper is just too busy? I used Evensong, because the colors worked well with the ColourQ challenge. The sketch is from Deconstructed Sketch, and I'm entering it into Word Art Wednesday.

Cardstock: White Daisy, Chocolate
B&Ts: Evensong

Cozy Tea

Here is the third card I made today. I'm entering it into these challenges:

Mojo Monday - Tall and Skinny
Heart 2 Heart - Spotlight Technique
Shabby Tea Room - Tea Pot/Cup with White/Cream
The Pink Elephant - Love

I have never made a spotlight card before, and in fact didn't even know what it was, but it was kinda fun. And the Mojo Monday sketch lent itself well to this technique. I learned something new!

Ink: Cashmere, Baby Pink
Other: Burlap Ribbon, Colonial White Crochet Ribbon, Colonial White Rosette Ribbon, Baby Pink Crochet Ribbon, Bitty Pearls

Cardstock: Colonial White
B&Ts: Proplayer
Stamps: Very Merry Christmas
Ink: Ruby
Other: Silver Glitter Paper, Red Shimmer Trim, Red Glitz Glitter Gel, Color Ready Seam Binding Ribbon, Snow Embossing Folder (Cuttlebug, not CTMH), Artiste Cricut cartridge

Sheep Love

It's been a few days since I've posted. My house got pretty messy last week, and it's funny how that really affects how much I want to craft! I had to clean for company yesterday, and today I had a friend over for scrapbooking. I caught up on some of the challenges I like to participate in. This first one is for some Sunday Challenges:

Sweet Sunday Sketch
Sentimental Sundays - Lovey Dovey
Pile It On - Animals
Opus Gluei - Trees

I've been wanting to use this punny sheep sentiment for a while, and it fit the challenges at Pile it On and Sentimental Sundays so well!

Materials used:
Cardstock: White Daisy, Smoothie, Buttercup
B&Ts: Dotty for You
Stamps: Childhood Portrait, Howdy
Ink: Black, Sweet Leaf, Smoothie
Other: Pink Brads

Time for Tea

I didn't get a chance to get out my crafting supplies today and play with them. This pregnancy is really starting to make me tired and I've been sleeping a lot. I slept so soundly during nap time, I didn't even realize my 2-year-old wasn't sleeping!

I made this card last week, and I didn't exactly like how it turned out. I didn't really know how to fix it, so here it is. Maybe y'all could give me some feedback about what you would do differently!
This is the Deconstructed Sketch with inspiration from Inspired By. I'm also entering it into the polka-dot challenge at Frosted Designs.

Cardstock: White Daisy, Cranberry, Cotton Candy
Stamps: Tea Party, A Sip

New Baby

My friend at church is having a baby about a month before me. We don't know what she's having, so I made her a neutral-colored baby blanket and this card with the Babycakes paper pack. I like that it doesn't have any pink or blue in it!

I used the sketch from Crazy 4 Challenges and the theme at Less is More - New Baby.

Materials used:
Cardstock: Chocolate, White Daisy, Buttercup
B&Ts: Babycakes
Stamps: B is for Baby
Ink: Chocolate
Other: doily (not CTMH), Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge

Here's the blanket. It is almost finished, I just need to finish the edge. I used vibrant colors, so maybe she can use it as like a stimulation mat during playtime.

I found I had quite a bit of time to craft today. I'm loving my new craft table and lots of space! This is a bright, cheery card I made for:

Sweet Sunday Sketch
Sentimental Sundays - add bugs
Opus Gluei - something encouraging

I really like how the inside turned out.

Materials used:
Cardstock: Gypsy, White Daisy

Ink: Gypsy, Cotton Candy, Ruby, Buttercup
Other: Wooden Buttons, White Baker's Twine

Owls are Wise

I haven't been liking the cards that I've been making that much lately. But this one is different. I sorta CASED it from ColourQ DT member Silke Ledlow. Maybe that's why I like it so much; it's not my own idea! I used the Atlantic Hearts sketch, the colors from ColourQ, and the H2H CTMH challenge. Now, I thought I could use colors for the CTMH challenge, and I came close: C for Cranberry, T for Twilight, H for Heavenly Blue. But I just couldn't find anything that started with an M. So then I thought I'd just say the M was for M-bossing (get it?), even though that's cheesy. But then my daughter pointed out to me that all of these letters are in my little sentiment on the card front. What do you know? So there you have it, my C, T, M, and H!

Materials used:
Cardstock: Grey Wool, White Daisy
Stamps: Whooo's Your Valentine, Just A Number, Sonoma WOTG
Ink: Heavenly Blue, Cranberry, Twilight
Other: Cranberry Ribbon, White Baker's Twine, Red Shimmer Trim, Blue Buttons, googly eyes (not CTMH)
