Lacy Monogram Card

I wanted to make a card for these 4 challenges:

Mojo Monday - Round or Square
The Pink Elephant - Washi Tape
Heart 2 Heart - Envelopes
Shabby Tea Room - Flowers, Ribbon, Lace, Pink, Aqua, Gold

I didn't have any washi tape (except black), but I read somewhere that you can make your own out of vellum, so I stamped on pieces of vellum using Diverse Backgrounds.

I added some lace around the back of the monogram, and I added lace and a monogram to decorate the envelope. I didn't want to add too much to this card; I think I added just the right amount. What do you think?

Materials used:
Cardstock: Colonial White circle card with envelope
Stamps: Diverse Backgrounds, Monogram "S"
Ink: Cotton Candy, Lagoon, Desert Sand
Other: vellum, lace, and ribbon from my stash (not CTMH)

Psalm 103:2

Today's card is for these 3 challenges:

Word Art Wednesday
Color Throwdown
Sweet Sketch Wednesday

The colors at the Color Throwdown were perfect for Chantilly, so I made this card using the back sides of the Chantilly paper. I also used one of the zip strips along the bottom:

I really like the word art that they have for us to use at Word Art Wednesday. I hope it glorifies the Lord with my creations.

Materials used:
Cardstock: Buttercup, white
B&Ts: Chantilly
Stamps: Scroll Album WOTG, WAW verse
Ink: Cotton Candy
Other: Pink Glitter Gems

Chalkboard Technique

I just loved this card by Becca Whitham, and I wanted to case it, so I used the challenges from Inspired By and Freshly Made Sketches to put my own spin on it.

I'm also entering this into the Anything Goes challenge at Simon Says.

Materials used:
Cardstock: Lagoon, White Daisy, Sunkiss Yellow, Black
B&Ts: Footloose
Stamps: Home Sweet Home, Family Love

52CCT April Technique - Punch Art!

HI! Welcome! This week at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown we are having a technique challenge. This one is new to me - punch art! I love these challenges because it requires me to try things I may not have done before, but have been wanting to try.

So I asked my husband what cute little animal I should make, and he said a wolf. A wolf?!?! When someone gives me a challenge like that, I just have to accept it. :) So I googled Christmas wolves and found this little guy:

So I took the challenge, and I used my Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge to make this little guy:

I hope you'll try some punch art and come play along with us at 52{C}CT!
Materials used:
Cardstock: Grey Wool, Grey Flannel, White Daisy, Cranberry
Stamps: Very Merry Christmas
Ink: Cranberry, Grey Wool
Markers: Black, Cranberry
Other: Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge, silver gel pen (not CTMH)

Another CASED card

The challenge at Pink Elephant this week is to choose a card and CASE it. I was looking at Mojo Monday and ColourQ and I found the perfect card. When I CASE cards, I like to see how close I can come using CTMH products. Here is my card:

Here is the original by LeAnne Pugliese:

What do you think?

Cardstock: Pear, White Daisy, Kraft, Smoothie
B&Ts: Chantilly, Flirty, Roxie, La Belle Vie

Color Dare 40

Hey everybody. Come along and play with us at our "shades of orange" color challenge. The Color My Heart dare this week is Goldrush, Sunset, and Creme Brulee. In other words, the Buzz and Bumble colors. I'm also playing with these 3 challenges:

Crazy 4 Challenges - sketch
Rose Blossom Garden - Mother's Day Artiste Key
Heart 2 Heart - buttons

Materials used:
Cardstock: Goldrush
B&Ts: Buzz & Bumble
Other: Cricut Artiste cartridge, Sunset Mini Medleys

Yellow Cake Card

Here is a simply shabby card I made for these three challenges:

Sentimental Sunday (Sketchy Friday)
The Shabby Tea Room - yellow, white, green, polka dots and flowers
Heart to Heart - Bake a Cake

That cake reminded me of the cute napkin in the Shabby Tea Room photo. So I colored it Buttercup. I used the Buttercup polka dot paper from Dotty for You. The flower is made from a coffee filter. It's the first time I've ever done that. Fun technique! I layered lots of ribbon and lace, doilies and buttons, chipboard, and all kinds of shabby goodness. I made the leaves with a technique I came up with yesterday - I used my circle punch to punch a cicle twice, and voila! - Leaves! I might send this card to my niece who's birthday is coming up. I hope she loves it!

Materials used:
Cardstock: White Daisy
B&Ts: Dotty for You, Magic Moments
Stamps: Piece of Cake
Ink: Memento - Tuxedo Black (not CTMH), Buttercup, Desert Sand
Other: White Grosgrain Ribbon, Irresistables Chipboard Journaling Spots; lace, ribbon, jute twine, button, coffee filter, staple (all from my stash - not CTMH)

Runway and Dynamic Duos

I made this card based on the inspiration photo at Runway Inspired. I decided to enter it into Dynamic Duos also, since I used black, and second generation black, which is grey.

I was inspired by the twigs and flowers on her dress, so I made a white card base with black twigs and flowers going up the side. I used first and second generation with the twigs. I really did love this photo. The dress is so beautiful!

Materials used:
Cardstock: White Daisy
Stamps: Flirty WOTG, Avonlea Scrapbooking WOTG
Ink: Black
Other: Black Grosgrain Ribbon, Slate Gem Bulk

A Bicycle Card

I googled a way to use this stamp set and paper on a card, and I found a really pretty one, but now I don't remember whose it was. Mine is very similar. The challenge at Opus-Gluei is to use a bycicle. I have not used the La Belle Vie stamp set yet, so I thought it was time to break it in. I love it because it has an eifel tower, a gorgeous lamp post, and this lovely bicycle! I used the sketch from Sweet Sundays:

I stamped the bike in desert sand, and the sentiment in Smokey plum. The flowers were colored in with the gypsy marker and a dab of silver Glitz glitter gel was put in the middle of each flower. I used the zip strip for the vertical strip. The circle panel was edged with the edge distresser, then sponged in desert sand. I think that is a great effect that goes well with the touch of burlap and the textured horizontal strip.
Okay, I googled the original card, and it is by Nancy Ball. Here is the post if you want to see how I was inspired.

Materials used:
Cardstock: La Belle Vie Mauve, Colonial White
B&Ts: La Belle Vie
Stamps: La Belle Vie WOTG
Ink: Desert Sand, Smokey Plum
Markers: Gypsy
Other: Colonial White Mini Medleys, Colonial White Waxy Flax, Burlap Ribbon, Silver Glitz Glitter Gel

Dynamic Duos with Sweet Stop Sketch

I made a masculine birthday card using the colors from Dynamic Duos and the sketch from the Sweet Stop:

I resisted the urge to put jewels and ribbons on it. I kept it simple, and I think a special man will love it. I showed it to my FIL, and he loves it. He said it was a late '40s or early '50s Buick. He knows his cars. :)

Materials used:
Cardstock: Black, Grey Wool, Colonial White
B&Ts: Dakota, Mischief
Stamps: Cruisin' WOTG, Say it in Style
Ink: Black

RetroSketches with PIO Color challenge

I'm not sure if I can do the Pile it On challenge with just one other challenge, but I liked the colors, so I used them with the Retro Sketch. I cased the original card, because it was so pretty.

I created the background paper by stamping a border stamp several times in New England Ivy and filling in the circles with my Sweet Leaf, Topiary, Hollyhock, and Blush markers. I colored the seam binding ribbon with the Blush marker, and I love that it dried instantly! The Hollyhock flower was cut using the Art Philosophy cartridge. I came up with the idea to cut the leaves using 2 cuts from my circle punch. It made perfect leaves! The pearl was colored using the topiary marker.

Materials used:
Cardstock: Colonial White, Sweet Leaf, Hollyhock
Stamps: Dreamin' WOTG, Card Chatter - Love
Ink: New England Ivy
Markers: Topiary, Sweet Leaf, Hollyhock, Blush
Other: Color Ready Seam Binding Ribbon, Mocha Pearls

A CASE from Less is More

The challenge at Less is More is to CASE one of two cards. I chose the first one thinking I could make it using CTMH products. I gave it my best shot:

To make this card, I embossed some heavenly blue cardstock with clear embossing powder and the stripe border stamp from It's Your Day. I used that strip for the banner and the strip inside. I paper pierced the outside of the Champagne cardstock using our ruler and piercing tool. The oval was pierced using the CM oval cutting system pattern as a guide. My shape, cut from Art Philosphy, is not as pretty as the original one, but it's similar. I didn't have any heavenly blue embossing powder for the sentiment, so I stamped it once in lagoon, then over top in versamark, then embossed it with clear embossing powder. I popped the layers up with foam tape, which is new for me, but I like the effect. What do you think?

Materials used:
Cardstock: Champagne, Heavenly Blue, Colonial White
Stamps: It's Your Day, Say it in Style
Ink: Lagoon, VersaMark
Other: Clear Detail Embossing Powder, Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge

52 CCT April Theme Challenge - Santa

This week at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown we have a theme challenge for you. The theme is Santa/Father Christmas. Now I only have one Santa/Father Christmas stamp, so I need to look into getting some more, especially if I'm going to be making a Christmas card every week! This card uses the sketch from Merry Monday and the colors from Color Throwdown. It's a little non-traditional for Christmas, but I think it works because blue is a winter color.

I used Pemberly for this one, and I really like it, especially the zip strips down the sides.

Consider joining us this week at 52 {C}CT, and make a Santa card!

Materials used:
Cardstock: White Daisy, Black
B&Ts: Pemberly
Stamps: Father Christmas
Ink: Black
