Super Fashionista

This is a funny card I made for Sketch Saturday and For Your Inspiration. I changed the sketch up a bit, and I used the colors from the inspiration photo. I've never done a brayered card before, so this it's not perfect, but it'll do. What do you think? I'd love your feedback!

I'm also entering this card into a new challenge I discovered called Craft a Scene. The challenge is to use a silhouette.

Rock the Block

I have seen a few cards on the web with this rainbow-pattern made with ink and stamps. I have been wanting to try it out, and this week's ColorQ challenge was perfect for it. I love the retro look, especially with the Rock the Block stamp set! I also like the fuzzy look of the stamping with this set.

Mischief Gets a New Look

I have so much of this bulk Mischief paper left over. I love the black pattern side, but I despise the stripes on the other side. I have never seen anything made with those stripes that I even half-way liked. :) So I'll be using this pattern often, I guess. I decided to see how it looked with Juniper. At first I wanted to put some red flowers on it, but they were just too big. So I went with the Creme Brulee.

Christmas in April

I am loving this sketch from RetroSketches.

I liked that little house so much that I wanted to use my little house from AP. So I'm pairing this sketch with the Simon Says challenge to use your favorite tool. Mine is the Cricut.

You can't really tell from this picture, but I used 3D foam squares to pop the blue piece for dimension.

Heart 2 Heart Birthday Card

The challenge over at the Shabby Tea Room was to make a birthday card with a cupcake on it, using this photo as inspiration:

I used the sketch from Heart2Heart:

This card was made with my daughter in mind. She turns 3 in 2 weeks.

I used a Colonial White card base with the Sorbet pattern from Elemental. I stitched around that piece with Chocolate embroidery floss. The dark blue is Pacifica and the pink is Baby Pink. I stamped the sentiment in Sorbet ink from the Art Philosophy Celebration stamp set. The Heavenly Blue lace is punched from a Martha Stewart punch. The Heavenly Blue cupcake is cut from the AP cartridge, stamped with the same stamp set using VersaMark, embossed with Silver embossing powder, and attached with 3D foam tape. I alsocut the rose from AP and I topped it all off with a Pretty Pin and a Sorbet bow.

Easter Basket Labels

Well, I said I had made my last Easter card, so these won't really count. :) I wanted to do these challenges, and I wanted to make some labels for the Easter Bunny to put on the baskets when he comes tonight. These are the 2 for my girls.

Restoration Hardware

The challenge at A Day For Daisies is to use some "Found" paper. I thought it was funny that we got a catolog from Restoration Hardware in the mail the other day. I've never heard of it and it was addressed to someone else "or current resident." The thing that was funny about it was that it is the thickest catalog I have ever seen, everything in it is VERY masculine looking (like it's for a bachelor pad), and everything in it is super expensive (like over $1000 for light fixtures and barstools). Anyway, I said to my daughter, "It probably took over $1000 just to print and ship this catalog," so I wanted to make some use of it instead of just throwing it away. I liked a lot of the textures in the catalog, so I cut some butterflies using my Garden Wooden Shapes as a template out of one of the pictures of the carpets. It's color was chocolate, and I thought that was appropriate, since Chocolate was one of my main colors of this card.

Birthday Party Invitations

My dear daughter, Susanna, is turning 3 in a few weeks, and she wanted a Kitty Cat themed birthday party (because she IS a kitty cat, or so she tells me every few minutes). So I pulled out the one stamp set I have that has a cat on it. It was the Wicked halloween stamp from this past year! She wanted it pink, so I chose the colors of the Color Throwdown and made it Garden Green and Smoothie :)

These looked to me a lot like the colors in the new Dotty for You kit: Lagoon, Smoothie, Sunset, and I chose Garden Green (instead of Sweet Leaf that comes in Dotty).

I also used the inspiration photo from Inspired By, and made an umbrella to represent Springtime.

My Last Easter Card (hopefully)

This card was not going the way I had planned yesterday, so I slept overnight, and changed some things this morning. I really like the way it ended up. This card is for 4 challenges:

The Ribbon Carousel's challenge was Springtime.
This was the sketch for Cards & Things:

I used the colors from ColourQ:

I interpreted these colors as Blush, Sorbet, Buttercup, Garden Green, and White Daisy.

The last challenge was my main inspiration. Runway Inspired:

I was inspired by her white dress, her clean and simple look, and the solid green in her sleeve. I tried to mimic the splash of color from the side of her cardigan in my egg with lots and lots of embellishments.

Floral Easter Card

Today I wanted to make an Easter card for my DMIL who always sends my children gifts and cards for Easter (and all occasions).
I used the colors from Cr84fn color challenge:

This is the inspiration photo at the Shabby Tea Room. We are to use handmade flowers on our card this week:
  

The theme at Heart2Heart is Easter. And the theme at the Pink Elephant is CAS. I tried to make the lines clean and the layout as simple as I could, without sacrificing the shabby elegance of the floral cluster. How'd I do?

Here is the inside: I used a masking technique because this was an Art Philosphy Flower card.

Dotty for You

I got my new Dotty for You kit, the April Constant Campaign for National Scrapbooking month in May! It is wonderful. I love the colors, the patterns, the dots on the back if I don't like the front pattern... and it coordinates beautifully with so many of our products.

Most of the Saturday challenges were sketches, so I pulled out my new kit and made some sample cards to show my customers.
