Super Hero

Today I made a card for these challenges:

Atlantic Hearts - Sketch
Heart 2 Heart - Theme (Super Hero)
Double Trouble - Recipe: 1) stamped image, 2) word sentiment, 3) colors (red, white and blue)
Simon Says - Red, White, and/or Blue

I chose to make a 6"x6" square card. I used black and white cardstock. The patterned paper is from the Superhero paper pack. I stamped the Super Powers image onto the watercolor cardstock and colored him in with inks. I used Cranberry and Moonstruck, and Taffy for the skin color. The sentiment is from the zip strip. I think this one turned out great and met all the challenges! I'm entering it into the double trouble thing 2 challenge for the Atlantic Hearts sketch challenge.

Materials used:
Cardstock: White Daisy, Black
B&Ts: Superhero
Stamps: Super Powers
Ink: Archival Black, Cranberry, Moonstruck, Taffy

Celebrate!

The Paper Players are having their 400th challenge this week, and I'm participating in their giveaway. I decided to make a card using the sketch from Sunday Stamps and the colors from As You See It. I took some liberties because I wanted to do the Retro/Vintage theme from Pile It On. It's been a while since I really distressed and embellished a card... usually I'm all CAS, so this may not be SUPER vintage, but it is compared to my growing stash of cards.

I saw this Paper Garden stamp set lying around, and I thought it looked pretty vintage, and the flower fit the sketch well, so I cut them out with my Cricut and then stamped them with Hollyhock. The centers are stamped in Creme Brulee. I remembered my Lucy paper pack used these colors, and had a vintage look to it. I only had small scraps left, but it was enough. I used a colonial white background, and stamped it with a script background stamp in Creme Brulee. Then I distressed the outside of the card and the flowers with chocolate ink. I finished it off with antiqued copper corners and black ribbon.

Materials used:
Cardstock: Colonial White
B&Ts: Lucy
Stamps: Universal Backgrounds, Paper Garden, Card Chatter - Birthday
Ink: Creme Brulee, Hollyhock, Archival Black
Other: Antiqued Copper Mini Medleys, Black Mini Medleys, Artiste Cricut cartridge

Let's Go

Today I made this card for my favorite Tuesday challenges:

Tuesday Morning for the sketch
CAS Colors and Sketches for the colors - Yellow, Purple, and Coral
CASology for the theme - Zoom
Shopping our Stash for the stash challenge - Geometric Shapes

It is coincidental that the sketch had geometric shapes -squares- already built into it! I used little squares of the challenge colors on a woodgrain background. I cut out my zoomy sentiment from the Flower Market Cricut cartridge, and stamped the cute bicycle onto the background paper.

Materials used:
Cardstock: Sorbet, Gypsy
B&Ts: Perfect Day, Dakota, Calypso
Stamps: The Long Way Home
Ink: Gypsy

Under the Sea

The theme for this card is "Under the Sea" inspired by the mermaid cupcake at Cupcake Inspirations. The colors are the left to right diagonal at the Color My Heart tic-tac-toe. The colors are Juniper, New England Ivy, and Glacier. The sketch is from CAS(E) This Sketch, and I'm also entering it into the Anything Goes challenge at Just Us Girls.

I think this would be really cute with the fishies colored in different colors. I might try that later, but for now I need to keep it simple and keep the colors minimal for these challenges.

Since all the little fishies came with their own sentiment, I decided to add a bow where the sentiment is supposed to go.

New Technique!

Hi everybody! This is my third post of the day. I am on a roll! I started this card last night, but I got stumped, so I left it overnight to sleep on it. I always think better when I can get some sleep. I asked my daughter what I could do better, and she wanted me to color around the Thank You, so I went over the stamped part with watercolor. Before, there was too much white space in between the swirls, and you couldn't see the sentiment very well. Now, there's a good outline around it and you it looks really pretty!

For this card, we were to use the Eclipse technique for the challenge at Crazy 4 Challenges. I've never done it before, and it's always good to get me out of my comfort zone, even though I'm hesitant to try something new. Especially since I have to use my cricut, and it is daunting for me sometimes. So I cut the "Thank You" out, then took the negative space and stamped over it with a swirly stamp. Then I glued the negative and the cutout space back together and outlined it with ink and water with my paintbrush. I stamped and fussy cut the flowers. The colors are from Color Throwdown, and the Sketch is from Freshly Made Sketches. I'm also entering this into the Anything Goes challenges at Simon Says and Just Us Girls.

Sunshine Fun!

Here is another card I made yesterday. But before I show it to you, I want to share the newest member of our family. His name is Pepper Jack and he's 7 weeks old. He's the sweetest little thing!

The card is for Double Trouble and I used the sketch from CAS Colors and Sketches. The colors are Sorbet, Glacier, and Nutmeg for Color My Heart Color Dare. And for Double Trouble, I did the twisted sister challenge and added string. My white was Colonial White. I am the original creator of the Color My Heart Dare, and I really don't even remember if Colonial White is ok to use! I think so since white is allowed and Colonial White has "white" in the name. So I think I'm good. If not, someone please tell me.

I used the Seaside paperpack and complements for this card. The brown was Desert Sand, which is my substitute for Nutmeg, since I don't have it yet.

Cardstock: Colonial White

US Bears

Hi! welcome back to my crafty blog! Yesterday I was able to catch up on crafting a little after a very long week. First I made this card for some Tuesday challenges:

Tuesday Morning Sketches
CASology
CAS-ual Fridays (actually a Friday challenge)
Shopping Our Stash

I had this idea in mind, but with a different stamp set. I couldn't find it anywhere, and it has me thinking I may have sold it at a garage sale! Don't you hate it when that happens? Anyway, I used what I had and it turned out ok, but what I had intended to look like a fire cracker actually turned out to look like a banner. It's still cute though.

I was supposed to use Red, White, and Blue for Shopping our Stash, and I found some Fourth of July themed stamps on my Happy Holidays stamp set along with this cute bear! The bear is for CASology. The sketch is from Tuesday Morning, and the Fireworks is the theme for CAS-ual Fridays.

I hope you enjoy my cute card! It's not my best, but I think someone will really like it!

Cardstock: Pacifica, White Daisy
