Christmas Blog Hop

I found this blog hop at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. They have 4 challenges that you can choose from. But I decided to choose all four (you know me, I can't pick just one challenge)! I made a square vintage card with 2 buttons, used 3 shades of pink and 2 shades of green, used the sketch (with a Santa instead of the tree), and I used my stickers.

When I hear "vintage" I think Mistletoe. I have a lot of Mistletoe paper left, but the Santa and the tag are my last stickers from the kit. I've never paired it with pink before, but I think I like it. I used baby pink for the cardstock and a blush button. The greens are New England Ivy and Sweet Leaf.

Materials used:
Cardstock: Baby Pink
B&Ts: Mistletoe
Stickease: Mistletoe
Markers: New England Ivy
Other: Pink, Green, and Holiday Buttons Assortments, Color Ready Seam Binding Ribbon

A Dakota Card

I had a big challenge trying to combine today's challenges, but I think it turned out great. Here is what I had to work with:

Less is More: CAS with earth tones
Crazy for Challenges: Red, White and Blue
Our Creative Corner: Homemade flowers with Hand-dyed ribbon
Retro Sketches: an old sketch that I made this card with (it's the second one in the post)

Here's what I came up with:

I minimized the layers a bit to give it some white space. I used Barn Red ink for the red, but an earthier red - almost brown. I dyed my seam binding ribbon with a barn red alcohol marker. My flowers were made using the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge, and sponged with Barn Red ink. I think they look like thistles.

Here is the sketch and color challenge:

Materials used:
Cardstock: Colonial White
B&Ts: Dakota
Stamps: Avonlea WOTG
Ink: Barn Red
Other: Color Ready Seam Binding Ribbon, Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge

Real life...

Now here's a card I'm excited about. It turned out just how I imagined. I needed a card for my brother for his 30th birthday coming up next week. So I took inspiration from these 3 challenges:

CAS(E) This Sketch
Pals Paper Arts
CASE Study

I used the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge to make the number overlay and the cutouts for the stamps and also for the number 30. For the grey, I brought in the Slate polka dot washi tape and the black and grey sparkle assortment. The other colors are Twilight and Juniper.
PPA210 Basic Gray Lost Lagoon Pool Party

Materials used:
Cardstock: White Daisy
Stamps: All the Details
Ink: Twilight, Juniper
Other: Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge, Slate Polka Dot Washi Tape, Black and Grey Sparkles

Be Still...

Here is a card I made for today's challenges:

Color Throwdown
Freshly Made Sketches
Word Art Wednesday
Pink Elephant - Anything Goes

I used some scraps from Ivy Lane, and the pink and white strip is stamped with the chicken wire stamp from Distressed Backgrounds. The circle panel is popped up with 3D foam tape. I finished it off with Flamingo Dots.

Materials used:
Cardstock: Lagoon, Colonial White
B&Ts: Ivy Lane
Stamps: Be Still, Distressed Backgrounds
Ink: Hollyhock, Lagoon
Other: Flamingo Dots

Happy fourth of July! (early)

Here is the third card I made last night. I loved this card from Jen at ColourQ, so I cased it using CTMH products. I used the sketch from the Shabby Tea Room.

Materials used:
Cardstock: White Daisy, Bamboo, Pacifica
Stamps: American Celebration, Love Life, Home of the Brave
Ink: Cranberry, Twilight, Pacifica, Bamboo

Christmas in July

Here is a second card I made last night. The challenge at Merry Monday is to make a "white on white" Christmas card, and only your sentiment can be silver. So I used the sketch at Mojo Monday and made the layers only white cardstock. I embossed the main panel with Close to My Heart Damask embossing folder.

I made this card 3 1/2 by 5 1/2 inches for the "tall & skinny" challenge at Mojo Monday. I hung the two round panels off the edge just a little bit. And it will still fit in an A2 envelope. The sentiment was embossed with silver embossing powder and the partridges were stamped with Slate.

Materials used:
Cardstock: White Daisy
Stamps: Pear & Partridge Card WOTG
Ink: Versamark, Slate
Other: Silver Embossing Powder, Just Blooms Paper Flowers, Bulk Glitter Buttons, Damask Embossing Folder

Thanks a bunch

Last night I just felt like making something for the sake of making something. So I found some challenges and I made a few cards. This one is for Runway Inspired, and the sketch is Atlantic Hearts.

I was inspired by the black lines and colorful flowers on her stark white dress. I stamped the flowers in black pigment ink and colored them with Close To My Heart alcohol markers. Then I added a honey button to the center of each flower.

Materials used:
Cardstock: Black, White Daisy
Stamps: A Flowering Bunch
Ink: Black Pigment
Marker Sets: Cotton Candy, Gypsy, Indian Corn Blue
Other: Honey Mini Medleys
