Fridays and a Thursday

Hello. I have had a pretty good/productive week. So I am taking a break today to ignore my household chores and focus on some crafting. :) My husband is taking me out tonight for dinner and a concert, so I will have to get my house cleaned up for the babysitter, showered, and dressed eventually, but for now, I'm content to lounge in my PJs.

I made this card for 4 Friday challenges and a Thursday sketch:

CAS-ual Fridays - Shades of Grey
Frosted Designs - Punctuation
Friday Mashup - Flowers and/or Monochromatic
Day for Daisies - Add some Green
CAS(E) This Sketch

I printed the Day for Daisies image onto Slate cardstock and colored it in with a chalk marker and the CTMH alcohol markers. I colored the stems green, but since you can't see it very well, I added some green epoxy bubbles to the centers of the little flowers. The punctuation I used for the challenge at Frosted designs was this cute sentiment from the Whooo's your Valentine stamp set. It has a +plus sign and an =equal sign, so I hope that's enough to meet the challenge requirements! I wanted to keep this clean and simple, and I debated adding the little daisies, but I really wanted an extra touch. It's still pretty CAS, don't you think? The sketch is rotated 90 degrees, and the sentiment is also rotated... I wanted to leave it right side up.

Materials used:
Cardstock: Slate, White Daisy, Whisper
Stamps: Whooo's Your Valentine, ADFD digi image (not CTMH)
Ink: Black
Markers: Chalk, Honey, Pear
Other: Black Ribbon Rounds, Just Blooms Paper Shapes, Blue/Green Epoxy Bubbles

Color Dare 83 and Skylark

This week we are using colors from the new Skylark paper pack as our Color Dare challenge at Color My Heart. The colors are Juniper, Sweet Leaf, Lagoon, and Skylark Yellow. I CASED a level 2 layout from Jeanette Lynton.

This layout is almost exactly the same, but I didn't have the Skylark assortment or the Chocolate Woodgrain Washi Tape. For the assortment, I found some Sweet Leaf buttons, some Lagoon resin flowers from the For Always Assortment, and a little bird from the Wooden Trinkets. Instead of the washi tape, I tore off little pieces from one of the zip strips. I kind of like the look of the zip strip even better than the washi tape!

Come play along with us at Color My Heart this week! We'd love to see what you can create!

Materials used:
Cardstock: Kraft, White Daisy, Sweet Leaf
B&Ts: Skylark
Complements: Skylark
Other: Green Buttons, White Daisy Baker's Twine, For Always Assortment, Wooden Trinkets

Pocket full of... Happy Thoughts

Here is the card I made yesterday. I started it in the afternoon, but I couldn't finish it until late last night. I just had a hard time visualizing the finished product. But once I chose my patterned paper, it all came together nicely!

Here's a little update about my life: I've been having Dr. apts a lot because I'm 34 weeks pregnant now and I have gestational diabetes. It's not too bad; I just have to test my blood sugar and follow a strict diet. I haven't been put on insulin yet. We didn't have running water in our house for a week 2 weeks ago, which was VERY difficult. I got sick and I'm certain it was because I wasn't able to wash my hands. Anyway, I now have the laundry and dishes caught up and the house cleaned up so I can spend a little time crafting. Maybe I'll get to make a few cards today before my Dr. apt.

I am using the color combo from ColourQ and the photo from Runway Inspired - I was inspired by the black polka dots and colorful patterns on her dress. I got the idea from this card which has been on my pinterest board forever!

Materials used:
Cardstock: White Daisy, Kraft
B&Ts: Surf's Up, Tommy
Stamps: Scroll Album WOTG, Rugged Dude, Card Chatter - Sympathy
Other: Black Ribbon Rounds

Shabby Ariana

This is the second card I made this morning. I really enjoyed making this one, and I like how it turned out. The challenges are:

Atlantic Hearts Sketch
The Shabby Tea Room - Washi Tape
The Pink Elephant - Pink
Heart 2 Heart - Shabby Chic

To me, Shabby Chic means rustic elegant, lots of layers, gentle distressing, flowers, fabric, lace, doilies, and lots of embellishments. The Ariana floral paper lent itself well to this style. I distressed my layers with scissors and Chocolate distressing ink. I used a few items that were non-CTMH, but all the paper, stamps, and ink are.

Materials used:
Cardstock: Ariana Coral, Colonial White
B&Ts: Ariana
Stamps: Card Chatter- Sympathy
Ink: Chocolate Distressing Ink
Other: White Daisy Grosgrain Ribbon
Non-CTMH: key charms, fence die (Your Next Stamp), flowers, doily (Wilton), lace washi tape

Christmas Flourish

My life has some semblance of order to it right now, so I took advantage of it this morning to make a couple cards. This one is a Christmas card for my growing stash. I am entering it into these challenges:

Merry Monday
Mojo Monday
Heart 2 Heart - Flourish Challenge
52 Christmas Card Throwdown

This is a 3/4" x 6" card for the Mojo Monday tall/skinny card challenge. The challenge at 52CCT called for metallic papers. I don't have any accept this glitter paper, so I hope it counts! I used Lagoon for my aqua for the aqua/silver/white challenge at Merry Monday. The flourish is from Circle of Love stamp set, and the sentiment is from the Frosted WOTG stamp set. I used Lagoon ink to stamp both. The layered papers on the bottom are cut with the CTMH scallop border punch.

Materials used:
Cardstock: Lagoon, White Daisy
Stamps: Circle of Love, Frosted WOTG
Ink: Lagoon
Other: Teal Satin Ribbon, Scallop Border Punch, Silver Shimmer Paper
