Canvas Art Kit

I finally got my canvas art kit and put it together today. I couldn't believe how easy it was, and I couldn't believe how well the pictures I chose went with it. If you like this kit, it comes with everthing but the photos for only 39.95, and you can order it from my website (see sidebar). I'm not sure if this counts as mixed media, but I am entering this into the canvas/mixed media challenge at Sentimental Sundays.

This is a 12"x12" canvas and the chevron design comes pre-printed on it. The elements are pre-colored chipboard shapes, and I stamped on them with cocoa pigment ink with the stamp set that comes with the kit. Here is a side view of the canvas:
This kit also comes with red, yellow, and green chipboard and other sentiment options if you want to change it up.

52 CCT May Sketch

Hi again! This week at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown we have a beautiful sketch for you. I'm sure you'll have fun with this one! I sure did. I took some inspiration from Lesley at Merry Monday, because I fell in love with the colors she used on her card this week. Here is my card:

I used a spellbinders embossing folder, but the white core of my paper showed through. So I inked the paper in Cranberry, and problem solved! I love how it brings out the embossing even more. The oval shapes and the poinsettias were cut with the Artiste Cricut cartridge. I had the same white core problem with my flowers, so I inked them up as well. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the final project!

Come play along with us this week at 52{C}CT!

Color Dare #41 with SSW #204

Hello! I have a project I made for the Saddle/Cocoa challenge at Color My Heart. The challenge is to choose your own color, but only use Saddle and Cocoa as your neutrals (white is also allowed). I chose Lilac Mist, because I thought it was a great baby boy color (and I have a ton of it!). So I made a layout for my skinny 9-month-old. The picture of him was taken about 9 months ago:

I used the sketch at Sweet Sketch Wednesdays, and chose to make it simple without a lot of fancy details. I will make the other side next, so be watching for it.

We'd love to have you join us over at Color My Heart, so come on by and give it a try!

Baby Card with Bow

I love the way things come together when you need them to. I made this card with inspiration from these 3 challenges, and I love the way it looks.

Word Art Wednesday
Runway Inspired
Less is More

I really liked the look of the baby dress in the photo. So I was inspired to use my swiss dots embossing folder and ink it up with desert sand. I also made a bow with the Cricut Artiste cartridge based on the little bow on the dress. The black from her shoes and stockings is tied in with the bigger brad and the sentiment. Besides the bow (and the word of God), my most favorite part about this card is the stark contrast between the clean white and the distressed polka-dot piece. Do you like it as much as I do?

Materials used:
Cardstock: White Daisy, Desert Sand
Stamps: WAW digital word art
Ink: Desert Sand
Other: Black Bigger Brad

Wintery Card

This card is very wintery and could be for a Christmas card. I used the sketch from Merry Monday, and I used the colors from ColourQ. I thought they were wintery colors. Here's my card:

I'm not sure if you can tell, but I applied some pink and purple sparkles to the teacup to tie in the colors. It really looks pretty in real life. Maybe you can see it better if you click on the picture.

Materials used:

Ink: Outdoor Denim
Other: Red, Purple & Pink Sparkles, Pink Button assortment, Hydrangea Embroidery Floss

Let's Hang Out

Here's a card I made for the 100th sketch at Deconstructed Sketches. I'm getting into the spirit! I used the colors from the Play Date Cafe.
