52 CCT April Theme Challenge - Santa

This week at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown we have a theme challenge for you. The theme is Santa/Father Christmas. Now I only have one Santa/Father Christmas stamp, so I need to look into getting some more, especially if I'm going to be making a Christmas card every week! This card uses the sketch from Merry Monday and the colors from Color Throwdown. It's a little non-traditional for Christmas, but I think it works because blue is a winter color.

I used Pemberly for this one, and I really like it, especially the zip strips down the sides.

Consider joining us this week at 52 {C}CT, and make a Santa card!

Materials used:
Cardstock: White Daisy, Black

Color Dare 39 & Pals Paper Arts

The colors for the Color My Heart dare this week are Gypsy, Sky, and Outdoor Denim. That's purple, light blue, and navy. I made thank-you notes for my daughter's birthday that's coming up on Sunday. The sketch is from PalsPaperArts.

I made four of them:

Birthday Invitations

Today I decided to go ahead and have a birthday party for my daughter who's turning 4 on SUNDAY! So I had to make these invitations quick to hand them out at church tonight. I used the color scheme from colourQ - my daughter picked it. And she picked out all the stamps and what colors they should be. So, if you don't think this is my best work, that's why. :)

Here's the inside:

I made 4 of them because she's turning four. My rule is that you can only invite as many friends as how old you are.

I stamped the cute little cat on the front of the envelopes, because they're Susanna's favorite animal:

And she loved that monogram stamp so much that she wanted me to put it on the inside and the envelope:
Materials used:
Cardstock: White Daisy, Gypsy
Stamps: Birthday Boy, Art Philosophy celebration, Life is Tweet, Monogram S, Critter Expessions Petite Perks
Ink: Gypsy, Lagoon, Cranberry
Markers: Cotton Candy, Taffy

Finding Nemo

That's the title of the movie I chose. Less is More's challenge this week is to make a one-layer card based on a movie. I chose to make a Father's Day card with a Finding Nemo theme. The colors from Dynamic Duos were perfect - light blue and deep orange. I used the sketch from the Sweet Stop.

I kept thinking it needs something, but when making a card for Less is More, I guess your mantra has to be "less is more, less is more." So I didn't add anything. What do you think, people from Less is More, does it need anything?

Here is the inside:

Materials used:
Cardstock: White
Stamps: Footloose WOTG, Victory WOTG, Limited Edition, Say It In Style
Ink: Slate, Goldrush, Heavenly Blue

52CCT April Color Challenge

Hi again! It's still winter in Wisconsin. Just in case you didn't catch it from my last post. :)

At 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown, we are having a color challenge this week. We are to use Navy, Light Blue, and White.

I chose to add some brown into the mix. I found a Christmas card sketch challenge called Christmas Challenges (with Sketches). I have not played there before, so I hope I followed all the rules. Here is my card:

Now this kind of card is not normal for me. But I always like to try new things. I put a little felt snowflake flower on there because the twist was to use felt.

I hope  you'll come play with us this week at 52{C}CT!

Materials used:
Cardstock: Kraft, Colonial White, Outdoor Denim
B&Ts: Wonderland
Stamps: Christmas Delights
Ink: Tuxedo black (Memento - not CTMH)
Marker sets: Outdoor Denim, Crystal Blue, Desert Sand, Taffy
Other: Silver Glitz Glitter Gel, Icing Overlays, Antiqued Gold Mini Medleys, Neutrals Baker's Twine

Orange & Blue Card

One more post for today. It's still snowing.

Here's a card I made for some Thursday challenges:

This card was harder to make than it looks. I cut out 3 strips of each color, then glued them down in different orders on white cardstock. Then I measured and cut each piece to fit onto the card. Then I cut the white cardstock to fit on the card front, and I marked and cut the cardstock so it would fit like a puzzle. You can't really see the detail very well in the photo, but here is a side view so you can see the dimension.

To make the flower, I stamped the larger petals in Outdoor Denim and cut them out, then I stamped the smaller petals in Sunset and cut them out, then layered them and secured them with a corduroy brad. I like the retro look. The isnpiration photo at Inspired By inspired me to use navy on my card and add a flower.

Materials used:
Cardstock: Outdoor Denim, Sunset, Lagoon, Colonial White
Stamps: Dreamin' WOTG
Ink: Black, Outdoor Denim, Sunset
Other: vellum (not CTMH), Sunset Mini Medleys
