Some cards I made today

I hope I'm not breaking any rules, but I don't want to stay up all night typing a whole bunch of posts. I'm just going to stick them all here. Let me know in a comment if I broke any rules so I can fix it. Thanks.

My daughters wanted to make a card for their cousin (her birthday was today). So they entered them into the Simon Says kids challenge. Here is Leah's card (she's 5 - almost 6):

Here is Susanna's card (she's 3):
And I made this card for these challenges: Sweet Sketch Wednesday, ColourQ and Simon Says (animal antics).
Here's the inside:

Materials used:
Paper: Let's Get Together; White Daisy & Buttercup cardstock
Stamps: Life is Tweet
Inks: Garden Green, Cranberry
Markers: Buttercup
Embellishments: Holiday Buttons, Paradise Paper Flowers, Holiday Brads, White Daisy Embroidery Floss

Here's another card I made for these challenges: Freshly Made Sketches, Color Throwdown, and Word Art Wednesday. This is an anniversary card for my sister-in-law.

This card didn't exactly turn out how I envisioned it. I think I put the butterflies too far apart or made them too big or something. Oh well, maybe next time.

Materials used:
Paper: White Daisy, Pear, Goldrush, Heavenly Blue, and Petal cardstock; Flirty B&T
Stamps: Word Art from WordArtWednesday (not CTMH)
Cricut: Art Philosophy Cartridge
Other: Bitty Sparkles, white ribbon (not CTMH)

Dog Days

The challenge at Ribbon Carousel was a summer theme. The challenge at Heart2Heart was Dog Days of Summer. The challenge at Frosted Designs was to scrapbook your summer photos.... I'm sensing a summer theme here. I've been wanting to make a companion layout to this layout we made at Convention:
I found the color challenge over at Color Throwdown to be perfect (even though I'm late... ooops):

So I made this layout based on the sketch at Frosted Designs, and I included a dog, per the requirements at Heart2Heart:

The pictures are of my oldest daughter at the 4th of July picnic. She went on the "safari" ride at least 4 times! I used the Ruby to bring out the red in her shirt; to be able to pick her out of the crowd.

Materials used:
Paper: White Daisy, Slate, Champagne, and Ruby cardstock
Stamps: Baroque Borders, Trinity Alphabet, A Bowwow, Love Blooms, and Summer Days (retired)
Inks: Slate, Sunset
Dimensional Elements: Houndstooth Alphabet
Embellishments: Slate Mini Medley Accents, Sparkles - Black and Grey Assortment, Slate Polka-Dot Satin Ribbon, White Embroidery Floss
Other: Doilies (not CTMH)

Here is how I am putting the layout together:

Second Merry Monday

I made this Merry Monday card with our new Pear and Partridge paper.

Materials used:
Paper: Pear & Partridge, Cranberry and Colonial White cardstock
Stamps: Pear & Partridge card WOTG
Ink: Cranberry
Other: Red Glitz Glitter Gel

Mondays are Great

I like Mondays because of challenges like Mojo Monday, the Pink Elephant, and the Shabby Tea Room. They had some neat challenges today, mostly school themed. Shabby Tea Room's was to be inspired by the photo and use pink, aqua, cream, and newsprint. Here is their photo:

Here is the sketch from Mojo Monday:

And here is the Pink Elephant challenge:

For my card I used some of CTMH's new paper packs: Avonlea for the newsprint, La Belle Vie for the pink, and Scholastic for the books. The stampsets I used were Scholastic WOTG and Classmate Alphabet. I embellished with Durables Square Studs, and for the aqua element I used Twilight ribbon and ink. I used Colonial White cardstock for the cream element. Here is my card:
Hope you like it!

Hot Summer

This card is for the red hot challenge at Opus Gluei. I used Cranberry as my base and Sunset with Honey as my other color. I stamped the sun from Just Chillin' on the Cranberry cardstock, then I random stamped the "hot" image on the Honey cardstock. I cut a sun from Honey on the new Artiste Cricut cartridge, and I cut the center of the sun from Sunset using the 1 1/4" circle punch. I looked in all my paper packs for some Cranberry B&Ts and this is what I found: Let's get Together, Evensong, Mistletoe, and Pear and Partridge. It's a strange mix, I know. I also found some sticky-backed Dimensional Elements that I got from a constant campaign like 5 years ago, so I sponged them in Cranberry, Sunset, and Honey. The sketch is from Sweet Sunday Sketches.

Dynamic Duos and Retrosketches

Those two challenges are like their own Dynamic Duo. I love putting the two together! This time I added in the challenge from Our Creative Corner: add denim to your project. So here's what I came up with:

Since denim is normally blue, and the colors for Dynamic Duos are pink and green, I realized it wouldn't work!! So I found some black denim and used that. I really like the texture it gives.

Materials used:
Paper: Sweet Leaf, White Daisy cardstock
Stamps: Words of Comfort
Ink: Blush, Black
Other: Sweet Leaf Rhinestones, black denim (not CTMH), Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge
