Lucy Get Well Card

I discovered some more challenges, so I combined 3 of them into one card. I'm so tickled with how this card came out. I think it's adorable! Here are my 3 challenges: http://sweetsketchwednesday.blogspot.com/, http://loriboyd.blogspot.com/, and http://simonsayschallenge.blogspot.com/.

The first challenge was a nice sketch:

The second was an inpsiration photo. I was inspired by the colors and the dots on the bowls.

The third challenge (from Simon Says) was a bingo board. The idea is to choose 3 in a row. I chose the top 3 across... Flowers, Glitter, and Brads. I really wanted to use brads to look like the dots in the above photo.

Materials used: Lucy Level 2 paper pack, Key Lime and Baby Pink cardstock, GreyWool, Chocolate, Baby Pink inks, Pink assortment and basic assortment brads, Prisma Glitter, Just Blooms Paradise assortment, White Daisy RicRac

Card for Freshly Made and Color Throwdown challenges

I wanted to combine two challenges into one card today since I discovered Color Throwdown and Freshly Made Sketches.http://colorthrowdown.blogspot.com/ http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com/  At first, I really wanted to use Rock the Block, but it didn't turn out how I wanted it. My daughter loved it, and wrote a message inside to her daddy.

Next, I decided to use the Pemberly WOTG stamp set. I didn't like the way this one turned out, so I finally settled on the last one.

Here it is, but I still think it needs something. This is the first time making a "clean" sketch for Freshly made. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Any suggestions?
Materials used: Colonial White cardstock, Creme Brulee, Garden Green, Dutch Blue, and Pansy Purple Ink, Pemberly WOTG stamp set.

Snow on Leap Day Layout

I have never done a ColourQ challenge before, but I thought I'd give it a try. Here are their challenge colors which I interpreted a little differently with CTMH's color pallete. colourq.blogspot.com

At first I thought Sky, Lagoon, Petal, and Vineyard Berry, but I really wanted to use Wonderland. So I used Heavenly Blue, Twilight, Spring Iris, and Vineyard Berry. What do you think?

I was really inspired by one of the snow layouts on the colourQ challenge blog.

Here's a closeup of the embellishments and hidden journalling:

Birthday and Easter Layout

Last week I discovered a few challenge blogs for paper crafting. I decided there's no reason I shouldn't be able to use these for scrapbooking, so I am submitting this layout for 5 of these challenges. It was so much fun to combine all the elements from these challenges into 1 layout. And I was so happy that they worked well with my pictures! These are some OLD polaroids and photos of me when I was 2 years old!!!

The first challenge was an inspiration photo from the Shabby Tea Room. I used the pennants and the colors from this photo. Perfect Day was the perfect paper pack to fit these colors!

The second challenge was from the Pink Elephant. It was to use Kraft in your project. I cut up one of those die cut cards to use and I liked the look of it.

The next 2 challenges were sketch challenges. I used Mojo Monday's sketch for my first page and the Ribbon Carousel's challenge for my second page.
My last inspiration came from the inspiration photo at H2H. http://heart2heartchallenges.blogspot.com/

So, now that you've seen all my inspirations, here is my layout.

Here's the left page:

Texture Board Book

In this board book, I used some of the items we sell in a slightly different way than they were inteded to be used. I made it for my son. We moved up to WI over a year ago from Mobile, AL and, not knowing I would have another baby, I left all of the baby books in storage in Alabama. I love to read to my children, so I wanted to make a texture book for him (he is 4 1/2 months old now).

We don't carry the board books anymore, and some of the stamp sets I used are retired. Everything else I used is current CTMH products or found items.

For the front cover, I used the Victory Level 2 paper and a picture of my son. I used cocoa ink (Tiny Typewriter was used throughout for the font).

For the first 2 pages, I made a spread using cardstock inspired by Footloose: Heavenly Blue, Lagoon, and Bamboo with White Daisy clouds. The birds are drawn with a black CTMH marker. The stamp I used for the water was from You and Me with Lagoon Ink. I used Cocoa ink for the text. The starfish was made by cutting out the fat star from the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge, then using that as a template to cut a star out of our distressing sandpaper. Then I added some wiggly eyes. For the sponge, I just cut up one of our sponges with scissors to make it look like a sea sponge.

On pages 3 and 4, I used cardstock from the Pemberly level 2 kit. The stamp set is Howdy. I colored the animals using ink and the blending pen. The inks I used are Cranberry, Honey, Desert Sand, Indian Corn Blue and Cocoa. For the sheep, I hand drew the one from the stamp set a little bigger with the Black marker. Then I applied liquid applique all over for a poofy effect. The horse and the spots on the cow are cut from our black microfiber cloth.

The 5th and 6th pages are made from papers from the Lucy paper pack. The bunnies and turtle are hand-drawn with our black marker, the bunnies are covered with cotton and the sections of the turtle's shell are filled with liquid glass. The text is stamped in black ink.

On pages 7 and 8, I used B&Ts from the Victory paper pack (with a Colonial White cloud). The text is stamped in Cocoa on Colonial White. The cat is drawn with the Black marker. I copied it from the cat on the Wicked stamp set. I attached some black hemp to the cat for the whiskers. The tree and bird are from the Stella Canvas Compliments. I added a feather and wiggly eye to the bird.

For the last two pages I used the Stella paper pack (I am loving how the B&T's look like wall paper!). I stamped the lamp and the chair from the Stella WOTG stamp set in Lagoon and Tulip ink. The mouse is crocheted with white yarn with wiggly eyes added. The outside of the mirror is an image from the Art Philosophy cartridge. The mirror itself is just made with a heavy duty piece of aluminum foil. I stamped the text in tulip ink.

The back cover is just a B&T from Victory. The whole book is glued and sealed with decopage (to keep grimy hands from ruining it), and all the 3d elements are attached with liquid glass (how I love that stuff!!!!).

I had been thinking about how to make this book for quite a while. It took me about a week to finish it once I had it all planned out. My daughters, ages 5 and 2, already love it, and my son is going to cherish it forever.

Mojo Monday/Heart2Heart sketch challenge with Sky, Sweet Leaf, and Sunkiss Yellow

Here I am again, combining Mojo Monday with Heart2Heart. My sister-in-law had a baby last week who's not doing well. Everyone's prayers have kept him alive this week. So I made this card for her because she's been able to spend some time with her precious baby boy, and we don't know how much longer he has. The inside is a verse: Proverbs 3:5 "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding." I used all Close to my Heart Products and you might be surprised that the only paper I used was White Daisy Cardstock.

I made my own background paper and sponged the other pieces to make the colored cardstock. I used Sweet Leaf, Sunkiss Yellow, Sky, Bamboo, and Desert Sand Ink. The stamp sets I used are: Backgrounds and Borders, the little flower is from Mayberry WOTG SS, the little heart is from Love Life, I used the thatched background in Bamboo from Universal Backgrounds, The sentiment is from Key Moments, and I used Everlasting Life on the inside. I also used the Dark choocolate striped ribbon, some sheer ribbon I had and Sweet Leaf Rhinestones. All the cutouts are from the art philosophy cricut cartridge.
